Butterbrew at Hogsworth
Feature
Written by Silquer
Edited by snotflower

Hello, my dear readers, and welcome back to the Daily Diviner! Our very own Hogsworth courtyard has been transformed for the season… the 2025 Butterbrew Courtyard Celebration is here! Grab a tankard, put on your butterbrew hats, and take a tour of the courtyard with me.

Blossom awaits at the steps of the courtyard with some helpful information about the celebration. Make sure to get the details from her before moving on! Going clockwise through the build, the first tent is where you will find Anselm Drachenfels, who runs the Pretzel Making stand. Unfortunately, the shipment of ingredients has been delayed… but rest assured, this activity will be arriving soon for all players to enjoy!

The centerpiece of this build is the massive butterbrew in the center of the courtyard. Right beside it is a peculiar structure; I climbed to the top to discover a diving board. It turns out that this butterbrew centerpiece is full of water, and one can take a leap and land in the butterbrew! You will want to dry off quickly, as there is more to see.

Next to the centerpiece is Samuel Nottingham. Speak to him to enter a queue for a round of Barrel Racing! Barrel Racing is a high-intensity racing minigame that has made an appearance for the season. There are three laps to complete, and the first to finish wins. However, even if you do not finish within the time limit, there is still a small Gold reward for participating. All you have to do is give it your all and enjoy this unique racing game!

Additionally, there is a Barrel Racing Tournament happening right now. The leaderboard beside Nottingham displays the current tournament standings, and a leaderboard can also be found here on the Potterworld website. There are several different leaderboards, and the top five players in each will receive a reward upon completion of the tournament on October 5th.

Moving away from Barrel Racing, you will find a very special tent. Waiting here is Barry, and this is where players can join the Butterbrew Edition of Order Up! This activity runs every 30 minutes and is a highly collaborative and intense cooking session. Players must work together to run the tavern, including cooking, taking orders, and cleaning the floors. Which role will you take on? Remember that collaboration is key in this activity!

To the right, the next tent is where players can start the Butterbrew Tavern activity. This is similar to Order Up, except this particular activity is done solo. Rush to brew as much as you can within a time limit and serve some familiar faces! The more familiar you become with the recipes, the faster you will be. Repetition of this activity will be key. Fight to the top of the leaderboard and complete as many orders as possible! There is a cooldown after every attempt, so make every second count.

The final tent is where you can exchange Gold for butterbrew-themed collectables! These collectables are perfect for the butterbrew season, from a Butterbrew Celebration Scarf for 2025 to the Mushroom Plushie just for this event. Something is locked behind 50 Butterbrew Tavern orders… what could be behind this achievement?

I hope you all are enjoying this celebration as much as I am! The celebration will last until October 11th, so there is plenty of time to enjoy the festivities. Gather some friends, get in your butterbrew garb, and start partying!

Investigating Bone-Chilling Butterbrew
Editorial
Written by snotflower
Edited by LMNJ

Welcome back to the Editorial Column of the Daily Diviner! It is officially butterbrew season, known for an unbeatably cozy atmosphere and, of course, the ever-popular eponymous beverage. While butterbrew and its variants are known for their delicious, comforting flavor, veterans of magical cuisine class and pub frequenters may recall a more sinister spin-off: the Bone-Chilling Butterbrew.

The rumors surrounding this aptly-named drink are aplenty, but its existence is still shrouded in mystery. The most common belief is that it was created by dark wizards as a test for those wishing to join the ranks. Dragon’s breath and ghost vapour are two ingredients typically included in the recipe, while others can vary. Of course, whether there is truth to any of this is unknown.

Unsurprisingly, many pubs have taken advantage of the interest in the Bone-Chilling Butterbrew to create their own versions to sell. To start my investigation, I visited a number of locations that claimed to have the real thing, but it was quickly clear none of them actually did. While some shops did maintain a few of the safer rumored ingredients, others had a disappointingly cheap imitation. Not to mention the drink itself was far too bitter for my taste, leaving me to wonder how anyone could actually enjoy this beverage over a classic butterbrew.

I tried questioning the owners of these shops about the drinks, but it was clear they were just as in the dark as I was. Some had their own ideas of how the drink came to be, however, and it was fascinating to hear their versions of the story. Still, I left each pub that day just as far from my goal as I had started, and I knew my only hope lay with more official sources.

Next, I visited the London police station to speak with some Auralocks on the matter. As a Daily Diviner reporter, I have slightly more leeway when it comes to confidential information, but much is still kept under wraps. The Auralock who graciously spoke to me told me there had been investigations into the matter, but not much had been discovered. While there have been leads, such as a criminal mentioning he knew of it, they have all led to dead ends.

As my final attempt to learn more about the beverage, I traveled to Ireland, where one man had claimed he had made up the original rumors about the drink. At first, this seemed like the disappointing albeit truthful answer to my search. However, when I looked deeper into his statements, I could find no concrete evidence to back up his claims, leaving this another branch of a grand, unsolved mystery.

Unfortunately, this is where my investigations had to end. While I discovered a plethora of intriguing information, none of it was conclusive enough to know what exactly the Bone-Chilling Butterbrew is or if it even exists. While I do not recommend searching for the actual drink, if any readers know something about it, the Daily Diviner encourages you to contact us with any information. Thank you for reading, and have a magical day!

A Butterbrew Crawl Guidebook
Server Spotlight
Written by snotflower
Edited by LMNJ

Welcome back to the Server Spotlight column! Butterbrew is the talk of the wizarding world, and for good reason. Not only is it a cultural staple of autumn, but it’s also delicious to boot! With so many places serving this iconic beverage, my favorite way to appreciate them is by going on a butterbrew crawl. This allows you to get a full and varied experience, and makes for a delightful weekend activity! Read on for an example itinerary.

The ideal first stop in anyone’s butterbrew crawl should be a comforting, familiar place. This is why I highly recommend The Broomsticks Inn! Not only is Hogsend absolutely lovely during autumn, but its proximity to Hogsworth also makes it a convenient stop for students. Butterbrew is one of the inn’s most iconic items, so it’s certain to be tasty, and the cozy environment is sure to get you excited about the locations to come.

On the outskirts of Hogsend is the Hog’s Inn, which some might say is the antithesis to the warm, welcoming atmosphere of The Broomsticks Inn. With bottles littered around, a smoldering fire, and aloof patrons, it can be an intimidating location, so there is no shame in skipping this one if it makes you nervous. However, the butterbrew here is absolutely delicious, and is sure to quench your thirst if you give it a try!

Next, take a quick Fire Dust hop to London, where you will find the Popping Pot in Carket Market. With its open-house design, it lends itself to a quick stop, perfect for a refreshing drink in the middle of shopping! However, note that this location can get rather busy on the weekends, especially if you want a table. While the butterbrew itself isn’t anything special, the ambiance is perfect, especially if you like people-watching.

After the hustle and bustle of Carket Market, I recommend visiting the Crossroads Pub, which is a few blocks away on the streets behind Grimlotts Bank. Its unassuming architecture makes it easy to miss, but that also means it is rarely busy. Frequented by Dark Followers and Werewolves, Crossroads Pub might sound like a dangerous place, but there should be no issue as long as you are polite and friendly. Alongside its butterbrew, the pub serves an assortment of food, making it a great place to get a snack as well!

At this point, you may be getting sick of drinking butterbrew, which is why the last location of my list is Brimbles’ Bagels. As suggested by the name, this quaint Wigtown shop serves a myriad of delicious bagels, including one infused with butterbrew! This may sound unappetizing, but it is surprisingly tasty and perfect for cold mornings before school or work. While it is a little out of the way, it is definitely worth a try.

That is all for this butterbrew crawl! After visiting these locations, I recommend returning to The Broomsticks Inn for your final butterbrew, making it a round trip. This will allow you to reflect on your journey, and the familiarity of the location will make the final drink even more delicious! I hope this inspired you to go on your own butterbrew crawl; whether it is alone or with friends, you are certain to have a wonderful time. Thanks for reading, and have an enchanting day!
