Hello, I hope you are having a good day. I was in a dueling challenge today and I think it wasn't fun at all for most of the people participating. I was in a team with a player that was there for the first time, and I had to go against Maxwheel and Bastaii. Everyone knows that these 2 players are very good at dueling and we got taken down within 10 seconds after waiting about 10 minutes. I think this can be improved by making the teams random or making teams that are almost the same level. I hope this suggestion/feedback is usefull, since i don't think i'm the only one not liking challenges because of this.

I totally agree, although I think it's quite challenging to do, because a team of 2 players with level 80 and 5 is not equal to team 45 and 40, because a player with level 80 has much stronger spells and equipment than 45.
The problem of the random team is that it is uncertain if a teammate will leave you in the middle of the challenge, I am unlucky for that. :-/

But if it could be solved somehow, I think it would make most people happy!

The reason challenges are fun is because you get to go with friends. If you are losing, try and get better so that you can beat the other people at the challenge :D

If you're looking for fair, making every team random won't get you there. You'll just end up facing against two high leveled players that get lucky to be on the same team anyways. And to avoid that you'll have to balance to teams by having Grads matched with the lower years who would die in an instant against another team's Grad. Not only would that make it more unfun, it would take forever to balance the teams in order for them to be all fair.

People would not like random teams and I guarantee you less people would join challenges. Challenges are already skill based, making teams random would make it luck based.

I agree and Magma has a good point. I think they should make the Duelling challenge teams balanced in levels, instead of random. I got one shot in the arena and so did my teammate.

I understand that friends want to play together, and I completely agree with that, but in that case it would be at least good if everyone in the challenge had the same level or at least the same equipment for the time being. This would make it even more challenging for good fighters. Thanks to this, victory would be gained by skills and not by a large level.

That's a very good idea. Just to clear it up a bit, do you mean that every player in the Duelling challenge will get a seperate wand with the same spells so that everyone is able to cast the same spells?

it's hard to say, everyone is used to their spells, it probably wouldn't be possible otherwise, theoretically, if he got a wand with all the spells on the challenge and could assemble his own set of spells before the fight. The question is how it would be with spelltrees, because again each player focuses on a certain side, in this case, for the event, the whole spelltrees would probably have to be fulfilled in order for it to be balanced for everyone.

I agree, making random teams probably wouldn't be the best sollution but people aren't enjoying it as it is now either. so this would be a good idea

you can get better skills yes but you cannot go against a lvl 80 player with really good gear when you are lvl 60 or lower.

The competitive nature of the challenges and tournaments is intentional. When it comes to gear and level, it can be awkward because not everyone is the same level who may want to participate in the tournament/challenge. However, challenges are meant to be competitive. We can't really blame them for putting time into what they practiced. That's just my point-of-view.

Yes challenges are supposed to be competitive but challenges are not fun when you don't even get the chance to fight back. and im not blaming anybody I just hope there is a way that it can be improved.

Hello @Allandrk!

Thanks again for your suggestion! Unfortunately it has been declined because challenges are meant to be competitive and we do not want to make them luck-based, in that winning depends on who you are teamed with. We also do not want to make teams and pair them up to be approximately fair, as that would add a lot of work to the hosts, as well as likely still having unfair matchups. We prefer everyone being able to choose a team that will get them the best results and attend challenges with their friends. The issue that is mentioned in the thread, namely that dueling challenges are not fun for lower years, will instead be addressed through the loadout system that makes gear differences unimportant.

We are always looking for ways to improve the server, so keep up the forum posts! Have a fantastic day!
