Hello lovely readers and welcome back to an exclusive article for The Weekly Owl! Today we will be recapping what has happened so far since the S.T.A.K.E.S roleplay event was released. Now let us get into our first recap!

To begin our recaps, we’d like to go over the death of Callidora Thornweaver, a magical witch who owned a local bookstore within Griffin’s Hollow. She was identified by the wand left behind at the scene. The remains of Thornweaver were found around the forest near Griffin’s Hollow on the night of July 27th. With it, officers found an unconscious unmagical and a wooden stake within the ashy remnants. Ministry Officials on the case could not give much detail about the investigation of Callidora Thornweaver. However, we received a statement from a member of the Oblivius Association:

“At first, it wasn’t much to look back on. Very routine case and procedure. The most unusual part was when multiple cases kept repeating in this fashion. Unmagicals would hear loud and distressing noises and we’d be dispatched to handle it. Strange to place each case that had piles of ashes in one box and link them all together. We urge the magical community to not directly engage with any unmagicals as you would normally, only keep a lookout for possible indications of these situations happening again. It is of the utmost importance we remain calm and protect everyone by keeping magic hidden from the unmagical population and leave this business to the Ministry. We will properly handle it.”

After this unfortunate event, the remains of Cepheus Laurier were found in the mines of Antrum on July 30th. Witnesses claim to have seen at least four people enter the area before the Ministry was on the scene and blocked off the area to conduct further investigation. Interviews with the officers handling the case revealed a high indication of it being a planned ambush. Glass shards and a thin trail of unmagical were found within the tunnels, as well as a cracked wand within the ashes. The small town of Antrum had a recount of a double murder in their newspaper, The Antrum Echo #162 these murders are rumoured to be in connection with the earlier events. We were able to get a statement from a Camarilla Consort member Rain Tereshkova who was on the scene:

“We, the vampires, are cautious with the recent murders of vampires. My brother, Phillip, and I have investigated the murders together with the Auralocks and there is only one conclusion. S.T.A.K.E.s has to be completely abolished. Vampires have a right to live. We will find the cause of this uprising against us and we will make sure it will never happen again.”

In other recent events, a woman was stopped by four individuals in an alleyway. The identity of the individual is currently unknown, but at the scene, the aftermath of the impact was left behind. Witnesses reported a light-haired blonde woman being followed in the streets of London when she unexpectedly sped up. Magical witnesses claim to recognise it to be the use of the spell Volo. There was also the mention of additional spells being cast after the woman had turned down an alley. This was verified by officers that had found signs of magical damage on the alleyway walls. Multiple witnesses claim the group displayed numerous bruises and injuries while wearing similar attire to one another. The authorities are unsure if the woman that was attacked is one of the three missing people. The Deputy Auralock, Violette Carstairs, was there to block off the scene, but we were able to receive a statement from her:

"As Auralocks, it is our duty to ensure the magical population stays protected. The recent events that have happened in Antrum, Wigtown and London are now well under investigation and we will find out who has done this. We believe the attacks may have been targeted, however, we can not release any more information at this time. If you suspect any suspicious activity, please inform us at the Ministry."

For the final recap, the murder of Venus Keinu occurred in Wigtown on August 8th. It was suspected Mr. Keinu was followed into an alleyway where he was attacked by two individuals, one of which was identified as Malvin Crane, an unmagical who died from blood loss after supposedly being slashed by Keinu. Witnesses reported hearing yelling and thrashing sounds from their homes before they contacted both unmagical and magical authorities respectively. Among the bloodied scene, Keinu’s wand was found not far from the corpse. Officers claim to have used the wandmaker’s record to identify him and most of the victims. Bystanders also claimed to have seen a woman with a horrified expression swiftly exiting the scene. Efforts to find and identify this woman are still underway.
