Hello everyone!

It’s with great excitement that we are able to announce the Minigames Update. Over the last month we have been hard at work on a number of quality of life additions, new gamemodes and bug fixes to our minigames.

In this patch note we will be detailing the modifications we’ve made to Party Games, the new support for minigame rejoins, the bug fixes made in Hide and Seek, and finally any other miscellaneous bug fixes and improvements that have been made.

We hope you enjoy these changes!

Party Games

NEW Speed Build
Sharpen your memory skills in this all new gamemode! In Speed Build, time is of the essence as you have 90 seconds to recreate a magical-theme build against your competitors! Remember, precision is key. The first to complete the build wins the most stars, and builder bragging rights too.

NEW Parkour Race
Want to test your parkour skills? With multiple jumps and turns, Parkour Race is now a new additional gamemode! Once the countdown ends, you and your competitors must race against one another across the Dark Forest in under 3 minutes. Finish as quickly as you can before anyone catches up to you!

UPDATED Capture the Pixies
Hands are just not enough to capture these speedy Pixies! Not to fret - Capture the Pixies has introduced a new high-quality net, which allows for you to capture Pixies more efficiently. A new magical forest themed revamp map has been implemented as well. Make sure to capture as many as you can to avoid more Pixies on the loose!

Bug Fixes & Improvements
We have also made some minor tweaks to the existing Party Games gamemodes as follows:
  • Added 20 new Trivia questions to the existing Trivia questions rotation
  • Changed the Keep the Crown map to use the Room of Requisite map (formally used in Tag), this map is more open and should allow for a more enjoyable experience
  • Changed the potions in Choose the Potion to use two different bottle types to make them more distinctive
    • We also swapped the potion colours to use “Grey” instead of “Light Purple” to help with issues distinguishing between the two
  • Fixed games not ending when the player count is 1
Bonus Rewards
To celebrate the release of this update, we will be doubling the Gold amounts you are rewarded from playing Party Games and completing your Party Games dailies. This will last for two weeks only!

We have also modified the 3rd Party Games daily activity “Party all day” to now require you to earn 15 Stars in order to claim your daily reward.

Players are rewarded for each individual round within Party Games that they play. Stars are awarded as follows: 1 Star for placing 3rd, 2 Stars for placing 2nd, and 3 Stars for placing 1st.

Minigame Rejoins

In this update, support for rejoining Minigames has also been added! While not adding it to every game, we have instead enabled it in the Revenant Gauntlet, 5th Battle of Potterworld Dungeon and Party Games. These games were selected as they are the longest in duration and cause the most inconvenience to players if they lag out.

How Minigame Rejoins will work is simple. When you lag out of a game or disconnect from Potterworld, you will have 90 seconds to rejoin the server. If you rejoin within this time you will be automatically reconnected to your minigame. Unfortunately if you rejoin after this time, you will be unable to rejoin your game.

When you rejoin a Gauntlet or Dungeon you will be thrown right back into the fight, respawning at the nearest spawn point. If you were dead when you disconnected, you will rejoin the game as a Ghost. Upon rejoining Party Games, you will be set as a spectator for the current round, however you will be spawned back in as soon as the next round begins.

We hope that Minigame Rejoins are enjoyed and well utilised! At this present point in time we do not have plans to extend the support to our shorter games.

Minigame Leaderboards

We have also refined our Minigame leaderboards a little bit! The following changes were made:
  • The Party Games leaderboard now displays your total 1st, 2nd and 3rd places as well as how many Stars you have earnt, this leaderboard is ordered by the player with the most Stars
    • Players are rewarded Stars each round based on their placement, with 3 Stars being given to 1st place etc.
  • We have also added a “Score” column to the Hide and Seek, Melting Floor, Quabbleball and Soulshard Wars leaderboards that directly reflects your placement
    • These values are calculated through our formulas that take into account the various game stats such as wins/losses/kills etc.
In addition to the website leaderboards the Game Statistics menu in game has also been given some treatment. This menu is accessible via /gs and includes the following changes:
  • Added separate stats for every Party Games gamemode which include the amount of individual 1st, 2nd and 3rd placements you have received in that particular gamemode
  • Added wins as hider, wins as seeker, the amount of hiders caught and taunts used to the Hide and Seek statistics
    • Please note that taunts used is a new value and therefore will only be showing the amount of taunts used from this update onwards
  • The Quabbleball statistics now also display the amount of own goals that a player has scored

Miscellaneous Bug Fixes
  • Prevented players from drowning in Hide and Seek maps that had water in them
  • Fixed a bug that allowed Seekers to open the Hide and Seek Taunts menu
  • Made it so when a Seeker is randomly chosen in Hide and Seek (due to the selected Seeker leaving), they are sent to the Seeker spawn instead of the Hider spawn
  • Made it possible to open doors and trapdoors while holding an item in Hide and Seek
  • Fixed Hide and Seek not ending if all the players left and rewarding the wrong team, if all Hiders leave the game, the Seekers will be given a win
  • Fixed Aviforma not working in 1v1 Arena
  • Refactored shop sorting to now operate on the basis of left clicking to go forward (also includes support for sorting by the amount of stock a store has)
    • We will be reviewing this to see how well it is received, we had to make this change due to running out of ‘click types’ to use for sorting the shops when adding more sort types
  • The In-Game Store menus are now sorted by displaying the newest store items first
  • Fixed hats in the shift-right-click menu having the "Click to remove" lore and saying "You have removed your hat" if you clicked on someone else's hat
  • Fixed a bug where if you had a full inventory and tried to drop an item out of your player bag it was deleted
  • Players are now sent a message reminding them about the Guild rules when creating and joining a Guild

That brings this patch note to a close. We’d like to thank everyone who worked on this update and gave feedback, and hope that you all enjoy it. As always if you have any feedback please do not hesitate to let us know!

On another note we’ve also decided to scale back on our Development Blogs to only be quarterly to ensure we uphold a high standard and quality with what we send out. As this update has been huge in itself, we do not see a need to double up on it within the Development Blog.

Thank you for reading, and enjoy the new Party Games gamemodes and rejoins!
