We already discussed this in Arena discord, but basically many of us would like to see a bit of variety when it comes to challenges. As of right now, challenges are usually team vs team with the same forms of bracket/qualification each time. Here are some of ideas I stole:
1. Double elimination bracket - This was used before and many of us liked it because it's more fair
2. "Knockout" flying - each round a certain amount of people qualify for the next one, and at the end theres only two teams left
3. Group dueling - randomly selected groups (or houses) fight in a ffa style and winners of each go to the finals
4. Random teams - it would be like the usual team vs team, but the teams are chosen randomly
5. Relay race but each person flies thru different section of the map. For example in 3v3, the map is divided into 3 parts and each person waits at the start of his section (which is the end of the previous one)
6. Challenges in new arenas - since we will have new type of halls arenas (no gravity, sky islands...), we could have challenges in those
7. Flying with powerups - something like we have in podracing minigame (speed boost, something that you can use to knock others off etc.)
8. Dueling but everyone has the same spells (randomly chosen before the challenge) - this would help lower level players, while higher levels would need to adapt.
9. Dragon escape on brooms - Fly thru obstacles trying to escape the Dragon! Last person alive wins the challenge!
10. Apocalypse dueling - Fight eachother while the meteors are falling, bombs are exploding and zombies are coming!
You get the idea. If you have your own ideas, please comment them.

Apart from 7, 9 and 10 which I feel like they would better fit minigames, I 100% agree on the others and I would love to see them in-game someday!

Agreed with this! These ideas are really great. I especially like #2 and #5. I would be hesitant to do #3, but I think it could still work. My only concern is there being really unfair teams, but that's already seen in challenges currently, so it's not really something that I can use to detract from that.

I really don’t like number 5

maybe if specials maps were made for it but rn maps are so easy with that little time flying most good teams flawless

yes it would require new maps that are clearly separated into sections. They could be linear as well, where the end is not connected with the beginning.

I phrased that poorly. I meant that teams could end up being where a bunch of good players are together and less experienced players are together, but that is how normal challenges work too. So it's not a bad thing.
my idea behind it is that the people who win in their group will be more skilled. If theres 4 groups lets say, and one of them happens to have less experienced people, the winner of that group will most likely lose in the finals and get 4th place (which is fair because that player still won inside his group).

Doing random teams in classes is fine, but in a competitive setting/challenges, it shouldn't be random. There are rewards for winning so playing more just skews the winners even more, instead of it being skill-based. Most of the other ideas seem cool though. (y)

Hello, @Ivan_ and others that left comments on these suggestions!

We'd like to thank @Ivan_ for their suggestions and provide an in-depth explanation for the decision behind each of these gamemodes.

1 is already implemented, and we hope players enjoy this new gamemode. 2, 4, and 5 are accepted, and we will work on allowing these to be played as soon as possible. Some of these will take longer to implement, so they will not all be released at the same time. We also have plans for a gamemode similar to number 6 and 8, but not exactly alike. However we will note for number 8 that we do not want to make wands for normal dueling challenges because graduates spend a lot of time grinding to get the spells and we want them to be able to use what they worked hard for. We are intrigued by suggestion 7, but this is a low priority and would take some time to implement. Unfortunately, we will not be pursuing 3 as we believe that this gamemode would not provide equal opportunity for all groups, and 9 & 10 are not possible at this time.

Thank you for the suggestions and we hope you all have a wonderful day!
