Hello! This suggestion is mainly directed to the PotterworldMC players who have bought a prefix or package on the store of the PotterworldMC server and have joined the PotterworldMC Discord™️ server.

I'm sure anyone who follows the criteria mentioned above has checked at least once the Allegiance & Clubs Section on the Discord™️ server only to find out.. endless counting on every single channel. This sure is news to me! On the store it's mentioned that a channel for the owners of the product will be unlocked to discuss matters related to the club or allegiance, but counting is nowhere to be seen!

Regardless, some might say that the counting in the channels can be considered "spam", which is against the PotterworldMC Discord™️ server rules, here's the definition of spam I found on the internet:
"Spam is any kind of unwanted, unsolicited digital communication that gets sent out in bulk. Often spam is sent via email, but it can also be distributed via text messages, phone calls, or social media."
While the counting fits the criteria of being text messages sent in bulk, for spam to be considered as such it must be unwanted! This might happen if someone who buys a prefix/package from the PotterworldMC store expecting a channel where to talk with other allegiances doesn't like the direction the channel has gone to.

Wouldn't it be a shame if someone were to be scammed because they expected something completely different from the product they bought? I have two suggestions that can both be implemented to fix this issue and cease all occurring rule breaking:
1. Rename the PotterworldMC Discord™️ "Allegiance & Clubs" server section to "Counting Channels".
This legitimates the counting as purposeful and therefore no longer rulebreaking.
2. Advertise the channels on the products on the PotterworldMC store as counting channels.
This gives potential buyers more information about the channels, which gives the customers full responsibility if they do not like the counting, as they were warned before.
The next suggestion will be about counting competitions with potterpoints as reward for the best counters, have a magical day!

Hold up, wait a minute. First we're trying to stop the counting now we're trying to award it!?! I do like the idea of a counting channel though.

Hey there! Thank you for answering to the thread. I don't think I've ever said once that I want counting gone from the channels in the thread. Instead, I am trying to preserve it by legitimating it with these suggestions. Have a magical day!

I see! You just want an appropriate channel for counting?

Hmm... My recommendation would be to make a completely new channel(s) for counting.

i do get the thing about spam, but it's hard for much real conversation with the end of official RP and not much unofficial RP happening on the actual server (that involves the factions). this is probably why the conversations about allegiance matters have sort of ceased

Hello @Deci, and everyone who contributed to this thread,

We have brought up your suggestions to the leadership team. I'm here to inform you that this has been declined.

We have designed these channels to be a place where all of a certain allegiance can converse, where the text channels can be used how they want to, within the rules. Over time, we have seen several conversations in these channels, including one-word stories, counting, pictures, and GIF sharing. That is something that we want to keep. We will, therefore, not be changing the channels to be exclusively for counting by changing its name. We also do not consider the counting in this situation to be spam since it is a combined effort from multiple players.

Due to these reasons, we will also not be advertising them as counting channels in our store. Not all channels are used to count, and even those that do so are only used for counting fairly intermittently. We hope you understand our reasoning in that regard. Should you have any questions about this decision, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Regardless, thank you for bringing this suggestion up. I wish you all a wonderful day. :)

thank you!! i'm glad potterworld recognises the counting as meaningful, now all doubts are cleared and counting can go stronger and better than before!! maybe i'd make a small note about it in the discord server rules to avoid future misunderstandings but it's up to you!

counting should not only not be discouraged, but actually enforced. i can only hope for a discord server where counting is the only method of communication and the human mind has become a mere vessel from where numerics can evolve and wipe out all living things. if people are not seen counting they should be :O
