Playertags while duelling should be 1 color

Greetings!

I've talked with a lot of duellers the last few years. Most of them told me they started using the Dark Follower role as prefix while doing their duelling thing because the dark grey is harder to see then most of the other prefixes / playertags.

I think that, while duelling, playertags should be invisible to the players participating in the duel. This way the monitoring staff and the viewers can still see the tag, but both duellers cant, which makes every nametag-color the same while in a duel.

Why i find this important: Players have to buy a DF prefix to get an advantage in duelling. Which means its low-key Pay to Win. I know PWMC doesnt want to be and I know they don't intent to be, yet it is true that this is a bit true. If a griffin and a DF are duelling eachother, the DF has an easier job then the Griffin i.e.

So yes, this. Another option would be that all nametags change to black or dark gray, even when you do not have a gray prefix. That would already improve this issue by 100% as the chances of seeing the nametag are then even.

i feel like if you lose a duel it's not because the other person had a darker prefix than you, any difference that makes is negligible. unnecessary i think but maybe others disagree
Most of it is skill, but to make it 100% fair, I feel like this should be at least considered. If two people with the same skillset would fight, the one with the darker playertag does have an advantage

Tbh the reason behind that is because the old great hall arena had gray floor so those ppl would blend in more, especially while using fortifius. In other arenas it's really not such an advantage, and even if you remove the name tag (which can be a good idea but I see ppl complaining about it too) the color of fortifius would also need to be figured out.

Hello, @Aber4th !

Unfortunately, this suggestion has been declined. Changing nametags temporarily in an instance like this would not be easy to do, and the work to require a change of the playertag function outweighs the possible reward of having a system like this. We also do not believe it is worth making these changes to playerdata for solely dueling, and overall we do not feel that it would make that big of a difference to dueling.

Nonetheless, thank you for making this suggestion, and have a great day!
