Whimsical Store Releases​

The Store Team is thrilled to unveil our enchanting Whimsical Store Releases, featuring magical items like the delightful Mushroom Wand for casting captivating spells, stunning Pavilion Scenery that invites you to relax in nature, and stylish Back to School Emotes to dazzle your friends upon your return to Hogsworth. Don’t miss out on the striking Blue Lantern Warp Key for adventurous travels, the regal Eagle Cane for a commanding presence in battles, and the beautiful Cherry Blossom Flower Crown to adorn yourself with seasonal charm—explore all these fantastic items and more in-game for the full experience!​

New Assistant to Head of Community Management​

This month we welcomed another member to the Head Staff team, jake_ft! A huge congratulations to Jake on his promotion to Assistant to Head of Community Management, who’s been a valuable member of CM for 2 years and served as an amazing Lead Prefect. In this new role, he’ll help by leading the department and upholding Potterworld’s server values to ensure our community thrives. Again, congratulations to him and we can’t wait to see what he does in this new role!​

Discord Suggestions Forums Release​

It’s finally time to welcome the release of the Discord Suggestions Forums! With this, players can submit feedback and suggestions through the #suggestions-forums channel on our very own Discord server. The Poltergeist team will be monitoring the new forums as well as our website forums, so you’re free to suggest or leave feedback at either location. With that being said, please be patient with the team as they navigate the forums, as this is a new system. Other internal restructure of the Poltergeist team’s process has been announced regarding collaboration and accountability measures with other departments, which can be investigated further on the official forums announcement. As always, feel free to reach out to Tech & Dev Leadership for any questions, and the team is excited to see your feedback and suggestions on the new Discord forums!​

Vacation Sale​

Though summer drew to a close sooner than expected, players still had the opportunity to celebrate the last bit of the season with the Vacation Sale! This exciting sale highlighted almost all of our store items at 40% off, excluding new releases. Players had to hurry to take advantage of this deal, as the sale only lasted for one week!​

Butterbrew Store Releases​

Autumn is almost here, which means the Butterbrew Festival is back along with another thing… The Butterbrew Store Releases! Make sure to check out some of our seasonal items such as the dazzling Pet Butterbrew Balloon and the festive Butterbrew Festival Hat! Looking to appreciate the drink more? Maybe the Butterbrew Tankard Hat or the Barrel of Butterbrew Hat are for you! Make sure to check out these releases either on our online store or preview them in our In-Game Store before they leave on September 21.​

Hogsend's 2024 Butterbrew Festival​

It’s time for our beloved Kevin to welcome back the joyous Butterbrew Festival in Hogsend! Like years prior, the Broomsticks Inn staff and local villagers are thrilled to welcome you and older Carnival activities back to their town. This event features all kinds of quests and activities for you to enjoy, rewarding you Event Tokens for your hard work! Didn’t get to play or finish the Butterbrew Trials? Now’s your chance! Make sure to check out the previously mentioned Carnival Games as well, featuring Balloon Darts, the delicious Food Eating Competition, and more to earn some Game Tickets. Don’t forget to check out the new “Order Up” feature, in which Barry the barkeep will need your services! As always, Minigames and Repeatable Gameplay will be available for you to earn some extra Event Tokens to purchase exclusive rewards with! The festival leaves on the 21st of September, so take a trip to Hogsend to enjoy the festivities while you can!The latest patch is packed with exciting updates, including Tommy Riddle’s 40 new riddles for higher-level players, a variety of new books in the Library, and the introduction of a Trolley Lady on the Hogsworth Express for sweet treats! We’ve improved accessibility with Quick Buy NPCs in every town and a skip option for all parkour quests, plus the Magic restrictions in Grimmane Lane have been lifted. With more Fast Travel locations, new spells like Enfurio, and enhanced teleport effects, there’s plenty to explore. Don’t miss the full announcement for all the details, and a huge thank you to the GD team for their hard work in bringing these enhancements to life!​

Bug Fixes & Improvements​

Our Developer team welcomes another patch note for our community, featuring information on QoL updates to Party Games and what they’ve been working on for the past few months. Party Games welcomes two new features: Grimlotts Break Out, in which players need to break out of the bank, and Gamemode Voting, which allows players to vote for gamemodes they’d prefer! On top of that, Trivia has been updated with an additional 65 questions added with plans on adding more as time goes on so gameplay doesn’t become repetitive. Other miscellaneous fixes and additions include an introduction dialogue to Housing for our new players, changes to tag colors for our Academics Staff while in classes, and so much more! Gameplay Update 1.10.1 ​

The Engineer Team shared their new balancing patch for Magic this August, trying to read better combat balancing for our passionate duelers! Unleash a snake to deal damage to your opponents with the new spell, Serpensorum, which can be unlocked at level 23. Many other changes have been made to our variety of spells on the server including changes to Aviforma, Expulsion, Meteorum, Confundo, and more! The announcement includes the list, which you can find by clicking on the title. We encourage you to check out the details and try these spells out for yourself the next time you find yourself online!​

August 2024 Magic Player Testing​

The development team searched for players who have a wide range of experience with the current dueling and magic systems on the server to help test an upcoming Magic Patch! Some of these changes include spell reworks, balancing changes, additions of new spells, and more. Though not all applicants were to be selected, it was encouraged that you apply for the chance to test these new features and participate in closed play-tests to work with our Engineers and help enhance the magic of Potterworld. To sign up, players had to be the required Level 51 and complete the form provided on the forum announcement! Any questions should be directions towards Harrison, Jack, or the Heads of Game Design on Discord. Happy testing!​

August Flying & Dueling Tournament Winners​

It’s time yet again to congratulate the winners of the August 2v2 Tournaments! With that being said, let’s jump in to give a round of applause to the skilled Dismana and government_h on their triumph in the Flying Tournament. Don’t forget to congratulate the fierce competitors Maxwheell and jacquas on their victory in the Dueling Tournament!
