Information
Most wizarding schools require their students to wear a uniform during the course of the school day. Each school’s uniform has its own unique aspect, such as its main colors and accessories, and sometimes an alternative version for certain occasions or events! The following information will be about the uniforms of Beauxbois, Dormunstrad, and Hogsworth.
Beauxbois
Students at Beauxbois get to wear blue uniforms made of fine silk that reflect their own beauty and elegance. Male students wear a light blue button-up collared shirt, a light blue blazer with dark blue trimming on the edges, a dark blue necktie, a pair of light blue pants, and dark blue shoes. Female students wear a light blue button-up collared dress, a light blue blazer with dark blue trimming on the edges, dark blue stockings, and a pair of blue heel shoes. During formal events, students must wear the alternative version of the uniform. It includes a light blue capelet (a small cape) that is worn over one’s shoulders and also a light blue witch hat. Although these uniforms are impractical for the cold, the students still look stylish.
Dormunstrad
Dormunstrad is well-known for living in unbearable, cold weather conditions. Luckily, their uniforms are suitable to withstand it. The uniform mainly consists of matted capes, woolly fur, fur hats, and blood-red robes. Male students must wear a blood-red coat with black fastenings, a plain black shirt underneath, dark brown trousers, and a pair of long, black boots. For accessories, they wear a black leather sash with a black leather belt, blood-red fur cloaks worn over their shoulder, and fur hats. Female students wear the same clothes as the males, except they wear a long, dark brown skirt instead of trousers. In regards to alternative versions of the uniform, there doesn’t seem to be any for Dormunstrad. Ultimately, Dormunstrad’s uniform fits perfectly for their location and culture.
Hogsworth
In comparison to the other uniforms previously mentioned, the Hogsworth uniforms are the most plain. They consist of a set of black robes and, although worn rarely, a black pointed hat. As a way to show house pride, students wear clothes such as shirts, sweaters, ties, socks, and scarves that match the color of their respective houses. Additionally, during the winter, students are allowed to wear a plain black cloak with silver fastenings over their usual clothing. Overall, despite the simplicity of Hogsworth’s uniforms, this leaves the students with many chances of customization and self-expression.

Today, you learned about uniforms from different magical schools! Now, you have the chance to create and describe a uniform of your own. Feel free to use aspects from the various uniforms you learned about! What are the main colors of the uniform? Is it formal or casual? Is there an alternative version of the uniform for certain occasions or events? If you decide to add one, what’s the special accessory that distinguishes your uniform from the rest? Be descriptive and creative!
