Academics Weekly Assignment — March 13th, 2022

Welcome to the Academics weekly assignment for the week of March 13th, 2022! These weekly assignments will give our Professors the ability to showcase some of their lesson ideas here on the website. Each assignment will be posted for a week, in which everyone will be able to read about the topic and respond to the assignment prompt. This week's assignment is "Magical Debate - Vampires vs Werewolves” created by Toad (ElizabethTheToad).

The assignment is as follows:
Background
The conflict between Werewolves and Vampires has been raging for centuries. Werewolves and Vampires are two vastly different creatures, which intensifies their conflict even more. This conflict reached its peak in October 2020, when the creatures had a full-out war that lasted a week.

The primary reason the war broke out was due to the Vampires stealing a one-of-a-kind ingredient that the Werewolves had given the Auralocks at the previous Werewolf Rights Rally. This ingredient was able to cure both vampirism and lycanthropy, making it incredibly valuable to both factions. When the Vampires and Werewolves met up to discuss the theft, the Vampires refused to return the gift. This caused the Werewolves to declare war on the Vampires.

As those who were on the server at the time may remember, players could help support either the Vampires or the Werewolves in this war. At the end of the week, the Werewolves emerged victorious, with the support of non-Werewolves helping them gain the win.

Assignment
If you were around during the Vampire vs Werewolf war, who would you support and why? Do you think they should have even had a war in the first place?
