Dear PotterworldMC Community,

I am writing to express my strong wish for the reimplementing of the Squib rank as a punishment for players who break the rules. As some of you may know, the Squib rank was previously used as a form of punishment that stripped players of their magical abilities for a period of time, sometimes permanently. However, this rank was eventually phased out due to concerns about its effectiveness and the potential harm it could cause to players.

I believe that the Squib rank is an important tool that can help us better enforce our rules and maintain a fair and enjoyable gameplay experience for all players. When players break the rules, it not only affects their own experience, but also the experience of others around them. The Squib rank is a way to hold players accountable for their actions and to ensure that everyone is playing by the same rules.

One of the concerns that led to the phasing out of the Squib rank was the potential harm it could cause to players. It is true that being stripped of all magical abilities can be a significant punishment, but I believe that this can be mitigated by ensuring that the punishment is proportional to the offense. For example, a player who breaks a minor rule may only be stripped of their abilities for a short period of time, while a player who engages in more serious rule-breaking may face a longer or even permanent loss of magical abilities.

In addition, I believe that the Squib rank can be implemented in a way that is fair and transparent. It is important that players understand the rules and the consequences for breaking them. By clearly communicating the rules and the punishments, we can ensure that players are aware of what is expected of them and what will happen if they fail to meet those expectations.

I understand that some players may be concerned about the potential for abuse or unfairness in the implementation of the Squib rank. However, I believe that these concerns can be addressed through careful monitoring and oversight. It is important that the administration of the Squib rank is done in a way that is consistent and transparent, and that players have a way to appeal any decisions that they believe are unfair or unjust.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that the reimplementing of the Squib rank as a punishment for rule-breaking would be a positive step for the PotterworldMC community. By holding players accountable for their actions and ensuring a fair and enjoyable gameplay experience for all, we can continue to build a strong and thriving community of players. Thank you for your consideration of my wish, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this important topic.

Sincerely,

Leyak

They could also put those players in azkaban, remove the ability to speak and all, and let them be prisoners that can like duel you and stuff idk

Dear _Navyy,

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my suggestion advocating for the reimplementing of the Squib rank in PotterworldMC. I appreciate your feedback and ideas on the matter.

I must say that I am intrigued by your suggestion of using Azkaban as a punishment for rule-breaking players. The idea of imprisoning them and stripping them of their ability to speak certainly adds an extra level of severity to the punishment. Additionally, allowing them to still duel other players could add an interesting dynamic to the gameplay experience.

However, I would like to offer a word of caution regarding the use of Azkaban as a punishment. While I understand the appeal of a harsh punishment for those who break the rules, we must also consider the potential harm that this could cause to the players involved. Imprisonment, even in a virtual world, can be a traumatic experience for some players, and we must take care to ensure that our punishments do not cause undue harm or distress.

Furthermore, I believe that the implementation of a punishment such as Azkaban would need to be carefully considered and monitored to ensure that it is being used fairly and proportionally. It is important that the punishment fits the offense, and that players have a clear understanding of what behaviors will lead to this punishment.

In conclusion, I appreciate your suggestion and agree that imprisoning players could be an effective punishment for rule-breakers. However, I also believe that we must proceed with caution and ensure that our punishments are fair and proportionate. Thank you again for your feedback and ideas on this matter.

Best regards,

Leyak

I heard that Azkaban is a great place. It's basically a wizard skyscraper. They even have an elevator now! Everyone has their own room and window. The dementors even kiss you smooch smooch for goodnight. So I doubt it would be traumatic.

Hello @LiviDk,

Thank you for this suggestion. Unfortunately, we would not like to re-introduce the Squib rank in-game, as we do not see any net gain from having this role return. All players are playing by the same rules and held accountable by moderators already, and we worry that the Squib rank would lead to further informal persecution by players as well. We believe that publicly removing players' magic and letting everyone know they broke a rule is too harsh, and is not something we want to use.

Nonetheless, thank you for the idea and we hope you continue to share any other ideas you have with us. Have a wonderful day!
