Dueling vs Duelling Policy

The word "dueling" should be spelled with one L when referring to Academics classes & Arena challenges/tournaments. In gameplay (such as quests & events), it should be spelled in the UK version "duelling".’

the dueling community calls it dueling, so its kinda wack to random call it duelling in quests and events but no where else? IMO just stick with one or the other (id suggust dueling since thats how everyone refers to it)

Yeah, would rather prefer it as Dueling too and it did feel a bit off when seeing it spelled as "Duelling" in the new first year Wands at the Ready tutorial. I guess that was my first instance of seeing it spelled as duelling in a quest as I don't recall seeing that word in any of the other quests.

Can you add a poll onto you thread to see what players would prefer?

Hey, I use British English as an Australian and I would 100% prefer dueling over duelling. Duelling just looks misspelled..

As far as I’m aware Professors / Arena Members have the freedom to choose which spelling they’d like to use when hosting a class / challenge. Though the reason gameplay utilises british english is because most gameplay is actually based in the UK.

Not that big of a deal but if we’re going with one, language called english not american free up the brits frfr 👺👺

Hello @TallBlondeDude!

This suggestion has been declined. Unfortunately, it would take a lot of effort for all of Arena & Academics to switch to Duelling, and therefore they will keep using the American English version of Dueling. However, as a British server, the rest of the server will continue to use British English at all times.
