While wondering around magical London looking for a suggestion to make, I noticed the existance of NPCs selling tea, coffee, butterbrew, and scorching scotch. I also managed to find the bagel shop in Wigtown. However, after trying them all, I was struck by a very disturbing feeling - their effects are all wrong and boring!
Right now this is the effect you get when 'drinking' Earl Grey Tea - sound on (though all teas and coffees are the same):
Obviously its not ideal - mainly because it has the sound and particle effects of eating something, rather than drinking.
If this could be changed to the typical SLURP sound effect with some sort of greeny greyish particles (and maybe other colours for the other tea variants) then that would be great!
The same is true for both the Butterbrew and Scorched Scotch - but instead of just adding the gurling sound and some boring particles to these, I think there's room for something more exciting.
1) Scorched Scotch (and in turn the Scorched Scotch Bagel) - fire particles circle upwards around you, a bit like the epifio effect but with FIRE!
2) Butterbrew (and in turn the Butterbrew-Infused Bagel) - could be similar to the particles that preceed the barrel throw in the 'Barrel bomb' spell (the ones that whizz around you). If this would be too extravagant just for some Butterbrew, then maybe just a few orange particles when drunk. If possible, it could even give you nausea if you've drunken too many.
3) I also think the 'Bellie's Bagel' should give different effects as it is meant to mirror that of multi-flavoured jellies, this could be done with:
- Different coloured particles
- Effects such as nausea, slowness, speed, jump boost, resistance, blindness, poison
- A message in chat stating what flavour you got e.g. "Yum! Pickled fish eyes!"
4) Finally, if the buyable Coffee could give you speed, or instead some sort of FOV change, maybe balanced with a countereffect
I think right now these could all be good changes to the server as 'drinking' Butterbrew and eating bagels is quite an underwhelming experience that just needs a bit of pizzazz (but not too much to make it annoying).
