Salutations Everyone! The Game Design Team has crafted a new Tutorial Experience for our players old and new! This will be replacing the first 7 quests in the Quest Book after getting sorted into your house. We wanted to create a more comprehensive guide to the base systems in the world to help teach our players. Here is some more information on how it will all work:
  • Players will now be placed into a Tutorial World to complete the first 10 quests in the Tutorial Experience.
  • After completing the quests, the player will be in Year 2 and have a full set of gear rewarded to them to prepare them for their journey!
  • Veteran players can visit the Tutorial World and help their friends with these new Tutorial Quests and/or complete the tutorial quests themselves.
  • Returning players that haven’t finished the original Year 1 quests can interact with the bulletin board in their common rooms to fix their progress on the old quests and start them anew on the new Tutorial Quests.
  • The Tutorial Experience can be played as many times as you want as a refresher of the base systems of the game. Note that the rewards per quest will only be given one time.
Here are the new Tutorial Experience quests that we have added/updated. Note that some of these are updated versions of the older quests and others are brand new:
First Year Struggles: Help Jeremiah find his lost schedule and learn how to use your Warp Key Bag.
Wands at the Ready: Learn how to use your wand and duel with Jeremiah!
Garden of Magic: Discover the wonderful world of Herbology and its benefits!
Feathers Afloat: Learn how to use Utility Spells and manipulate your environment!
Getting Geared Up: Unlock the secrets of Gear and how it can benefit you.
Magically Delicious: Time to put on your apron and cook some tasty treats. Learn how to cook and how food can give you buffs! Prideful Potions: Bring out the cauldrons and learn how to brew powerful potions that can unlock new possibilities!
A Future Unforetold: Discover the mysteries of the future and learn how to solve puzzles and navigate through magical mazes!
Up Up and Away: Lift off the ground and learn how to fly on a broom!
Looking into Space: Learn how to attend classes on PotterworldMC!

Amazing job on the new tutorial! It was well laid out and easy to understand especially with the helpful particles and compass to guide me along the way. I really liked how most of the quests were interactive, such as the Wands at the Ready and Garden of Magic quests - hopefully new quests can get that sort of treatment too!

And thank you for scaling back the difficulty level of the Feathers Afloat Charms parkour and removing the parkour for Divination and replacing it with an easy maze. I'm sure these two changes will really make a difference combined with the new tutorial quests!

Overall, I think new players will be able to navigate through these quests easily and understand how the server works through them. Thanks again for an amazing update!
