Seperate announcement channel for department applications

Thank you for making this suggestion! I can understand that you'd prefer to only be notified for application announcements and not everything else, so I can see the appeal for this! I'll be bringing it up to the team for now so we can discuss it further and see what the possibilities are for this! Once we have received an official response, I will be sure to update you on this specific thread, so I definitely suggest keeping an eye on it!

Unsure which side you're on with this, but as a player that's indifferent to staff applications opening or closing, I kind of do get disappointed whenever I see an applications post in #announcements on discord - not because the app is closing, but because I expect a really cool announcement being made such as a new event or a major update.
On the other hand, I'm sure there are players out there that want to keep up with staff applications specifically, so having a separate channel or role would be helpful for them if they are interested in staffing.

Unfortunately, your suggestion to add a separate channel for application updates has been declined. As these announcements do not happen very often, we do not want to add a new channel exclusively for application updates. We think the announcements channel is the best place for them, rather than adding a whole new channel. We would rather add a new ping role for application updates, meaning that the announcements ping would not be used. This is not yet implemented but we do hope to do this in the future.
