Spells Are Not Popping Up

Me and my brother can't pass year 1 quest 8 because Lumen Auestus is not popping up. Other spells are also not popping up.
Please help.

Heyo, when you have your wand open press ‘Q’. This will open your second spell hotbar! Hope this helps.
