Stop allowing spawn camping in escort payload

#1
Hi. Like some other games like quabbleball, where you're not allowed to stand in the hoop to block shots (camping in the hoop), or in snowballing where you aren't allowed to spawn onto people and kill them (at least thats what I've seen people say during games), I think it should be added that you cannot spawn camp in escort payload. There have been some players who death spawn camp and win every game. This makes it even more impossible to win if you have players afk or were sorted with less then the other team. If I remember correctly it appeared they have been doing it for a while now. They basically just laugh or taunt when you ask them to stop spawn camping, saying its not in the rules to not spawn camp or "get over it :)"... one of these players is a current helper so that says alot about the situation that them being able to spawn camp kill people for some reason also makes them feel like they have the right to basically taunt the loosing team in general. This itself is upsetting behavior coming from a staff member./ someone we usually look up to on the server. But, as soon as you spawn they are surrounding the area to instantly wipe you out over and over again until their team member on the outside of the spawn pushes the Yoda into victory and you can't do anything but sit and be killed. This makes the game less fun and kind of unfair. I think removing allowing the spawn camping would be a great idea. When its just you and two other players against 4 or 5 people killing you instantly its impossible to win. I think since this gets applied to other games it should also be applied to escort payload, since you can't escape or win when you're being trapped at spawn killed over and over again.

I think that the map for the Payload game should have had multiple spawn exits or at least two spawn buildings for each team and in each section just to avoid the spawn camping scenario.

I'm certain that I've been on both ends of spawn camping during this game, but being on the side where you're immediately killed after spawning does get a bit deflating and having someone that's staff act, like you mentioned above, doesn't make the game any more appealing to play again. But.. I would end up playing after a bit. Then again, hopefully they can address some spawn camping issues, even if it's not in the rules, but to create multiple spawn areas within each section. It might be too late for this year, so hopefully they can consider it and make adjustments for future event games.

YES! This is an amazing idea. They do this for snowballing where you spawn at different locations so people can't just camp in the death area and kill you again and again. Setting players to spawn at different locations on their end of the map would be better, because camping would be almost impossible since no one would know where an entire team spawns at. Some may argue its a strategy, but in other games this is typically against the rules already.
Regarding the unexpected behavior, I hope they see this and realize as helper staff, they are someone we look up to and set a display of whats acceptable to the community, and treating players badly in games we want to have fun in is not really appreciated. Im not going to say who, but im sure if they keep doing what they have been doing someone will say something. I was not the only one, a few others on my team were mocked for asking if they could stop spawn camping. I checked and they are either a helper or poltergeist.

Hia @oakstanner, and Psycho,

Thank you both for leaving your feedback! We agree with the points that are brought up. While creating multiple exists could be a solution, this would ultimately not solve the root cause. Players would then camp said (extra) exit, and then we now have the issue at two exits instead of one.

Randomizing their spawn location as mentioned, could also be an option, but this also does not solve the root cause. There already were 5 seconds of spawn protection when you spawn, where we have upped this to 7 seconds to give players a bit more protection when they spawn. These changes are live.

Leave let us know if you have any additional feedback. Regardless, I wish you both a wonderful day
