May the Fourth Arrives on Potterworld
Feature
Written by Silquer
Edited by Calliequeen

Hello, my dear readers, and welcome back to the Daily Diviner! A spaceship from far, far, FAR away has arrived at the Hogsworth Boathouse once again, bringing students along for a galactic ride to the Galaxy’s Edge spaceport on Batuu.

Once you enter the Millennium Falcon, you will be presented with many choices… where will you go first? Perhaps you will journey first to Nevarro, home of the Mandalorian Beskar Forge. Or maybe you will be drawn to the arid desert of Tatooine, or even the sacred Kyber Crystal Cave of Ilum!

Out of all of these planets, Batuu is likely the best first stop. This large port will get you started on your adventures through the galaxy. Here, there are plenty of daily activities, quests, and collectables.

For example, players can get started with bounties by finding the bounty terminal in the back of Galaxy’s Edge, or speak with Oga Garra in Oga’s Cantina to help create unique drinks. The Galactic Star Cruiser takes off every 12 hours, and speaking with Ezra Bridger will lead to some lightsaber practice. Who will you speak to first?

Lightsaber making is a staple of this event. Speak with Cere Junda to start building a brand-new collection of lightsabers (or continue an old one). To do this, you will need to travel to Ilum and experience the cold beauty of the caves… It can be difficult to find the crystals you need, but the calm atmosphere of the caves makes the endeavor easier.

On Batuu you can also find the Minigames Master near the Millennium Falcon. If you speak to him, you will find plenty of parkours, droppers, and mazes. Beskar and Star Tokens are awarded for completion, which is perfect if you are still trying to get the Beskar armor after several years (like me).

This time of year marks the return of the beloved May the 4th-themed minigames! Star Racing, Star Battle: Domination, and Star Battle: Payload are open to players right now; what are you waiting for? Gather some competitive friends and start battling it out on foreign planets!

If you missed your chance last year, you can still get a special lightsaber by completing Ahsoka Tano’s trials, and if you complete Hera Syndulla’s activity, you will be rewarded with a Chopper Pet! Not to mention the many available droids at Build-a-Droid Mart.

There is plenty to explore and experience on Potterworld this May the Fourth Event. Get into the spirit of things with your alien costumes and cosplays, and log on to enjoy what Game Design has put together! You will not want to miss out on one of the biggest events of the year. May the fourth be with you!

Hogsworth House Cup: Harmony or Disunity?
Editorial
Written by yakko__

The Hogsworth House Cup is a tradition which all Daily Diviner readers know of–the school-wide competition between the four Houses: Griffins, Serpents, Ravens, and Honeybadgers. While the Cup has a long history, is this a tradition worth keeping? In order to find out, I interviewed students as well as a Hogsworth professor about their opinions on the Cup.

First, I spoke with Imogen, a fifth-year Serpent student.
Q: What is your opinion on the House Cup?
A: It’s stressful. Some students take it too seriously, and that can make it hard to have fun. I think it has encouraged a lot of divisiveness among the student body. Losing isn’t fun, obviously. I also think it can be unfair if some Houses have less students…there are less opportunities to earn points, so there can be inherent disadvantages.
Q: Do you think the Cup has any positive aspects?
A: I think it’s good that it incentivizes students to do well academically, and it can help build House loyalty and cooperativity. It has potential to be good, but I don’t like it as it is.
Third-year Griffin student, Emma, had a different perspective.
Q: What is your opinion on the House Cup?
A: It’s lots of fun! I play Quabbleball, so I’m pretty competitive. It’s really cool that I can earn points by playing, too.
Q: Do you think it has any negative aspects?
A: Nope! It’s a friendly competition and everyone can participate in their own ways. I think that’s exciting!
Next, I spoke to Thomas, a first-year Honeybadger.
Q: What is your opinion on the House Cup?
A: I don't know yet…I haven’t been at Hogsworth long. I think I would be sad if my House lost, but also I like when I earn points because I’m helping my House. Also, if we don’t win, we can still celebrate with the winners and that sounds fun, too! Then we can do better next time.
The Raven student I spoke to was Arran, a seventh-year.
Q: What is your opinion on the House Cup?
A: I honestly don’t think of it often.
Q: Do you think it is positive or negative?
A: I don’t think it’s one or the other. Some students find the competitive format a deterrent, while others find it to be an incentive. I think in general, having a reward for good behavior and academic and extracurricular performance is great, especially for younger students.

Finally, for a staff member’s perspective, I spoke with Hogsworth Charms professor, Professor Chapman.
Q: Do you think the House Cup is a positive or negative experience for students?
A: I think it has the potential to be either, though we staff do our best to try and make it a great experience for students. What is essential is maintaining a sense of camaraderie between the Houses, and modeling sportsmanlike behavior is one of the ways we do that. Older students help with that, as well. Their younger Housemates often learn from them as much as they do from us in regard to socializing with the other Houses.
Q: As it is right now, is the Cup more positive or negative?
A: Positive. From what I’ve seen, most students tend to enjoy the competition, or at least the celebrations!
Opinions are divided on whether the House Cup is a good or bad tradition, but from my research, it seems the scales tip more towards the Cup being a positive aspect of Hogsworth life. Though not every student views the Cup favorably, the work put in by the staff to make it a fun competition and celebration has largely worked. The House Cup is a tradition that definitely still has a place at Hogsworth!

Finishing Year 4 Quests
Server Spotlight
Written by snotflower
Edited by littledead

Welcome back to the Server Spotlight column! Year 4 is never short of excitement, as it has players explore the vast Potterworld countryside, discovering new places and friends along the way. There is much to see and many people to help, though nothing is without its difficulties! Continuing our look through the diverse quests of Potterworld, this article will go over the final four quests of Year 4.

In Blocked Source, players visit the Hovel, home to Xanthius Lovett. His well has stopped bringing up water, which means his berries are dying! In the tunnels under the well live mysterious creatures called Wrackspuds, which can only be seen using magical glasses called Vivispecs. Wrackspuds make an essence that defies gravity, which would be the perfect fix to Xanthius’ well troubles!

If you agree to help him, you must travel the countryside to slay some dangerous creatures and collect precious materials! Last, but certainly not least, it is up to you to enter the well and finally restore the water source, saving Xanthius’ berries.

This quest is certainly an exciting one, as it introduces many new locations in the countryside. As thanks for the help, Xanthius gives the player a pair of Vivispecs of their own, which serves as a wonderful reminder of our time spent at the Hovel. Learning about the Wrackspuds is also intriguing since it is the only time we ever see these fascinating creatures!

Turns out Xanthius Lovett is not done, however, as the next quest has him seeking players’ help once more! In Peculiar Planting, Xanthius has grand ideas for a new seed he can plant, but he has unfortunately forgotten what tools to use. Though he can provide some of them, it is up to the player to gather the others and decide which one is the best.

Once accepted, the player follows his instructions to collect certain materials and visit Tristmoor, a town to the southwest, to obtain some magical fertilizer. Once everything has been tested on the soil, you must return to Xanthius and report your findings!

Xanthius is overjoyed to hear the results—there is always satisfaction in a job well done, after all! He also provides some Gold and experience as a reward. Though this is the last quest with Xanthius, you can always visit him again by returning to the Hovel!

Next, in the quest Snatched, a girl named Isabelle needs help. Her hometown was raided by the terrifying Snatchers, and when fleeing, she and her family had to leave behind many valuable items.

If the player agrees to help, they must visit the town to collect the items. However, it is no easy feat! The Snatchers are still in town and are rather dangerous. Therefore, the player must be stealthy in order to gather everything needed.

Though this quest can be a bit scary, evading the Snatchers is quite an exciting experience. Isabelle and the other villagers are incredibly grateful for the help, and she gives the player a new piece of gear as thanks! You can find Isabelle in Tristmoor.

The last quest of Year 4 is called Rising Healer, and it is the first in a long and thrilling questline that spans multiple years! Returning to Hogsworth, a fellow student named Clayton Murray challenges the player to a flying race. If you take him up on his offer, you must put your skills to the test and race around Hogsworth in an attempt to beat him!

However, things do not go quite as planned… and soon you find yourself in the Hospital Wing! To escape requires some stealth, as Madam Lillian is not keen on letting you leave before you are fully healed. At the end, you meet Via Oxley, who becomes a valuable friend throughout the rest of the Rising Healer quests!

I hope you enjoyed this look into the final quests of Year 4! From helping others, to an exhilarating flying race, these quests take players all over Potterworld and require many skills and strategies in order to complete them. If you have not played them yet, make sure to give them a try! And if you already have, I hope they were fun to remember. Thank you for reading, and have a magical day!

Secret Influencer Spots
Lifestyle
Written by whoohoo
Edited by Calliequeen

Welcome everybody, to this issue’s Lifestyle article. Today I have something very exciting: new locations! Now, most of these are perfect for pictures for the influencer in all of us; however, they are also great spots to hang out at.

The first spot is at Hogsworth itself, or rather just outside the walls of the castle. To get there, walk towards the greenhouses, from which you can pass through an opening to get outside the school’s walls. This takes you right in front of a river that flows next to a path that leads to a different gate to get back to the school grounds.

I have found this to be an adorable spot to take pictures with friends, picnic, or even get a few moments of peace away from the busy school halls.

The second spot is also outside of the greenhouses, but this time, instead of going straight from the spiral staircases that take you to the Raven tower, you take a right and land outside that way. You will spot a tree in the corner with an adorable swing.

I love to sit around the tree with friends and hang out after classes or during study hours on a blanket and my books! Lots of picture opportunities exist for this spot that I am sure will get more creative as you think of possible ideas.

For the third spot, travel to Appleby Village. It has big apple orchards that are extraordinary for picnicking under. For influencers, this is the perfect place to take pictures!

The fourth is another road trip. This time we’re in Squalus Cove! One of my friends loves this place, especially its beach and marketplace. Both have tons of adorable photo spots and are a good place to get some inspiration flowing if you love the sea!

Next up, we have Tristmoor, a cute town with a lovely main square, an amazing fountain in the middle, and the Victory Shop on the outskirts of town for everybody who loves games!

Lastly, we have Diagon Alley in London. It has lots of places for pictures, which is especially good if you love to shop and influence an audience that does as well!

Thank you all for reading this article. I wish you the best. I hope you found some new spots to take pictures in or even just hang out at! I know I loved sharing them with you! My favorite is the tree with the swing close to Hogworth’s Greenhouses. Hopefully I’ll see you there one day!
