A Flair for Fashion

Welcome back to the Daily Diviner! It is an exciting time of year, with summer around the corner and anniversary celebrations in full effect. This joyful, transitionary time is an ideal chance to show off your fashion style! For inspiration, look no further than the recent Poetry in the Park Store Releases and Anniversary Store Releases. Read on for an overview of the items from these releases, as well as some other store items that can help create the perfect outfits!

May’s Poetry in the Park Store Releases had two major additions to the store. First, the Red Affection Wand Effects show off your love with hearts emitting from your wand! Plus, the Shakespeare Emotes are perfect for those with a flair for the dramatic, allowing players to lament their woes and celebrate all things theatrical.

Both of these are great starting points for themed outfits. Spring is the season of love, and there are plenty of items to appreciate its final moments. The classic Red Wizard Hat matches well with the Red Affection Wand Effects, and the Cherry Blossom Broom is a beautiful pick reminiscent of our time in Mahounoshiro. Finally, the Pet Butterfly and Pet Sprout are both adorable spring-themed pets with lots of versatility!

Alongside the Shakespeare emotes, players can don a Faun Hat to emulate the iconic character Puck. The Old Man Beard is also a personal favorite of mine, as it allows me to live out my dreams of being a cranky old wizard. If you are looking to play a more regal character—Shakespeare has no shortage of kings in his plays, after all—the recently released Royal Collections is exactly what you need. Lastly, the Pegasus Mount makes for a memorably dramatic entrance!

Next, the Anniversary Store Releases came out alongside the Anniversary Event in late May. It features three purple Wand Effects, which are all lovely, versatile ways of showing Potterworld pride. The Purple Trail Wand Effects is the subtlest of the three, while the Purple Butterfly and Purple Affection Wand Effects are sure to catch anyone’s attention.

Two Anniversary Wand Lore were released as well—the Confetti Core and Candle Wood—for any player interested in giving their wand extra pizzazz. Finally, the seasonal Drooble’s Order Anniversary perks made a return, including chat emojis, join effects, and an anniversary icon in prefixes and player tags!

Players can celebrate the 11th anniversary of Potterworld by donning purple clothes and items. The Celebrations Collection is a wonderful place to start looking! My favorites are the Purple Party Hat and the Dance Emotes, which are perfect to get others in the celebratory mood as well.

For a bit of nostalgia, the Wizard Hats are classics and harken back to the server’s beginnings. And how could I not mention the Old Man Beard once more, which conjures images of the famous wizard Merlin and, of course, our very own Headmaster Droobledore? To continue with this theme, the Pet Phoenix is an iconic symbol of the headmaster and a majestic addition to anyone’s menagerie.

Fashion is a fun and creative way to show off your style, and these store releases are wonderful stepping stones for inspiration! Whether you are looking to match the spring season or celebrate Potterworld, there is something for everyone in the store. Make sure to check out the newly released items, and thank you to the Store team for these amazing additions! Have an enchanting day!

Wizarding Fashion Trends
Editorial
Written by littledead
Edited by snotflower

Welcome back, Daily Diviner readers! One part of the wizarding world many tend to overlook are the fashion trends. Over the years, we have seen our fair share of magic-inspired looks and trends both at Hogsworth and in the general wizarding public. Let’s take a look at some of the wizarding fashion trends of the past and present, and see if they are worth the hype!

Starting out with something everyone at Hogworth is familiar with - the school uniforms! Are these classic robes too outdated? Although the uniforms bring a sense of formality to Hogsworth students, the drab black robes can feel a bit medieval. Perhaps Hogsworth should modernize to a slick blazer like many Unmagical schools.

Hogsworth students may also accompany their uniforms with a towering wizard hat. These hats have a more stereotypical look to them and are seen by most students to be silly and embarrassing. For a brief period these hats were incredibly trendy, especially wearing them as high as possible above your head. This trend got so out of control that a ban was put in place by the headmaster for hats above four feet tall. Towering wizard hats can be fun and charming on occasion, but for the most part this is a trend I think we should keep in the past.

Moving outside Hogsworth fashion, we have the recurring trend of vanishing socks. This involves enchanted socks disappearing and reappearing as a new, mismatched pair. It is truly a wacky trend that, although not too popular with the general public, shows creativity and is geared towards free-spirited witches and wizards!

Another fun trend is magical hair chalk. Like its Unmagical counterpart, magical hair chalk is a way of temporarily dying your hair - but with a magical twist. There are five different color options and each one has its own magical properties applied to the wearer. My personal favorite is the blue, which gives the ability to breathe underwater for a short period of time! Vanishing socks and magical hair chalk are both fun and unique fashion trends I would love to see make a comeback as we could all use more color in our lives!

There are also trends that are a bit more permanent and much more personalized. Although not as popular as they used to be, enchanted embroidered patches were one way many Hogsworth students added originality and a touch of personality to their robes, trunks, and any other objects they wanted to customize. These patches are a great way to spruce up your style and add a bit of magic to daily life. We should all strive to be more creative, so I think this is a trend that should be brought back!

Another trend popular with older witches and wizards are magical tattoos. These magical tattoos involve a two-step process. First, the process of the needle and ink, just the same as an Unmagical tattoo. Then, a spell is cast that traces the tattoo using immense accuracy. This spell gives the tattoo the ability to move in a repetitive pattern. As someone who has tattoos myself, I love the trend of magical tattoos, although I can understand they are not for everyone.

These are just a few of the wizarding fashion trends that have come and gone over the years, and some that will never go away. Although I gave my opinion, you should not let anyone tell you what to wear. Fashion is a personal thing, and it is always important to express your true self! I hope you all have a magical and fashionable day!

Magical Careers - Magical Nurse
Server Spotlight
Written by MintyEagle
Edited by littledead

Welcome readers, to the Daily Diviner. There are a ton of different career paths to go down, especially in the Wizarding World. No matter your skill set or interests, there is something for you. However, it might still be a bit difficult to decide on what you want to do later in life. On Magical Careers, we will be diving into many different jobs, from Architect to Magizoologist. In this edition, we will be covering magical nurses!

Magical nurses are similar to the unmagical version but with a fantastical twist. Instead of using conventional unmagical medicine, they are able to use spells and potions to heal patients more efficiently. This career is recommended for people who enjoy helping others directly and have a natural sense of what they need.

Magical nurses research new magic techniques to improve medicine for all, not just the patients they are assigned. However, it can be stressful as there is a lot on their shoulders, and they have to be careful that the correct treatment is given. At the end of the day, they have the opportunity to witness the recovery of their patients and see them reconnect with their loved ones.

Do you feel like becoming a magical nurse is the path for you? If so, there are a few things you need to do first. You need to be able to create a number of healing potions and spells in order to heal patients. The best way to accomplish that is to take brewing electives during your time at Hogsworth. Plus, both the Medical Wing and St. Merlin’s are taking apprenticeships.

We are in a day and age where it is impossible to avoid working, so why not enjoy it while we are here? Not everyone is the same, and there are various career paths for different people. We are going to cover a wide range of jobs, so you can hopefully find one for you. Until then, thank you for reading the Daily Diviner, and have a marvellous day!

Accessorizing 101
Lifestyle
Written by snotflower
Edited by LMNJ

Welcome back to the Lifestyle column of the Daily Diviner! While clothing is, of course, a crucial part of any outfit, one aspect that is often forgotten is accessories. These can make or break an ensemble, especially in the magical world where there are so many ways to accessorize! Whether you want to subtly match colors or stand out from the crowd, read on for some tips to make your outfits pop.

The best part about accessorizing is that it can be remarkably simple. Wizards already have many means of showing off their style, such as wands, brooms, scarves, and even pets! With the inclusion of magic, the possibilities are truly endless.

First, it is important to decide what theming or style you want to achieve, and then wear accessories that fit with it. For example, an aspiring Dark Follower may wear dark, mysterious clothing. Therefore, they may want to pick a darker wand or mystical jewellery. An avid Herbologist, on the other hand, might show this off by utilizing floral theming such as a flower crown or decorating their broom with their favorite plants.

Matching colors is one of the easiest and most subtle ways to accessorize. You can choose to style your outfit around one specific color or have multiple that complement each other. A great way to do this is with scarves, which are aplenty on Potterworld. They come in all sorts of colors, which means there is likely a perfect one for you out there!

Brooms and wands can also be easily modified to match your theme, and even your pet can join in the fun! Something as simple as adding a bow to your precious companion is all it takes to create a cohesive design.

However, do not be afraid to experiment or pick accessories that may not seem like they match, especially if you are looking to stand out! There is an art to a clashing outfit that can be just as precise as one that perfectly matches.

If you are looking for something big and bold, the wizarding world has you covered! Items that glow, such as wands, are one easy way to draw everyone’s eyes (and it also shows off your magic prowess!). You can also choose something silly or less common, such as giant, unwieldy brooms or awe-worthy pets. The combinations are limitless!

Even after selecting these accessories, your fashion journey is not over; there are many other ways to enhance your outfit. For example, you can spell your hair to be a different style or color—though always practice caution when casting on yourself or others! You can look at current trends and follow the ones you like, or you could revive older ones. When you are out and about, you can make different parts of your outfit float to emphasize them. And never underestimate the power of a group; try to brainstorm with your friends to create multi-person themes!

I hope this was an educational look into the wide world of accessorizing! Whether you want to stand out or keep it simple, there is something for everyone. Use these ideas to get inspired, and make sure to try out your own combinations as well. Thank you for reading, and have a magical day!
