The Hunt’s puzzles returned with Stage 2. Many in the wizarding community had to solve another riddle that led them to the Ministry of Magician’s Time Room. Before they could enter, they needed to activate five hidden levers at the same time, and contact the Chief Auralock to obtain a code for the door. Once inside, they met ex-Temporal Guardian Valery Yurei. Valery Yurei instructed them to set the clock to the time they wanted to travel back to and collect 18 Temporal Sand that were hidden throughout the map and behind several riddles. After having achieved this, they needed a “magical energy core”, which was stolen by Victor Armand, a bitter ex-Auralock. After having sufficiently threatened him, he returned the energy core, and after placing it in the machine the player traveled back in time and witnessed the assassination of Lauren.

The second puzzle of Stage 2 had the group of magicians exploring the ruins of the previously attacked Longbay Landing. After digging through the debris they discovered a secret tunnel that led people to the supposed “assassin’s” hideout. Searching around the hideout, they had to collect keys and open crates to find missing pieces of a map that—once put together—revealed a clue to the next puzzle.

Continuing into the third puzzle of Stage 2, the adventurers had to travel and explore submerged sections of old sewers. Whilst underwater, they found four strange objects: a calendar, torn paper, a dagger, and a list of names. They continued on to find Sara Selwyn's hideout, which she occupied shortly before her mysterious death. As the wizards and witches sifted through her notes and peered through her crystal ball, they discovered the actual cause of her death, as well as how she traded her life for another. Wrapping up the murder mystery, they discovered the site of her demise, along with the surname of her assassin.

The next riddle led to the once destroyed Lore Compendium and gave clues that led to an abandoned house in Wigtown. Scattered around the house was information about the assassin. In the basement, it was revealed that the assassin had left a clue of his whereabouts in a letter.

Solving the riddle and hint in the letter revealed that the assassin resided in the sewers of Squalus Cove. After the adventurers searched for the assassin, he was discovered and apprehended in a room he had locked himself in. The Auralocks placed him in the Ministry’s prison where he confessed that the being who has been pulling the strings is someone named Grux.
