Created in October of 2020, the WizNewsletter serves as a way for students and staff to recap on the month's updates. WizNetworkers spend countless hours researching, writing, editing, and implementing each section so that the happenings of the wizarding world do not go unnoticed. SERVER ANNOUNCEMENTSWere you alone on this year's Valentines' Day? Not to worry! Two new emote packs were added to the store so you could embrace your single status soon after the holiday. Along with those, some stunning Heart Wand Effects were added to let you express your love all over the server! With the excitement of the new store additions, it was easy to forget about the Valentines' Sale which ended on February 16th.
Aphrodite blessed us this Valentine's season with the combination of new Olympus-themed items and seasonal Valentine's releases! The Olympus release included a Pegasus Mount, an adorable Pet Baby Pegasus, a Greek Myth's Scenery, and more godly items. The Valentine's features included fun Romance Emotes, the Heart Sceptre, and a beautiful Valentine's Scenery. Players thanked the gods as they were graced with a sale for 30% off our store items that lasted until February 16th. Players had to hurry to check out the seasonal items before they left the store on March 1st!
The new Arena 2022 Season 1 Releases have been released for this upcoming season and we are excited to see the thrilling challenges and tournaments of this season! The new releases are Roleplay-themed and feature three new maps: the Phoenix Dueling Arena, Roleplay Bases Flying Course, and Ministry of Magic Dueling Arena. We hope to see you in this upcoming season!
GAMEPLAY UPDATESThis Valentines' season, the new Havoc in Hellas event was released to all players! Make the journey to Ancient Greece and explore a vast labyrinth filled with quests and impending doom, as well as assist Aphrodite in returning love to Kalphos Island! To begin the event, make sure to speak to Kevin in the Great Hall to start the journey to the island. The event will only last until March 6th, so make sure to check it out before then!
Defend your Soulshard, collect spells, and duel your opponents with our new minigame, Soulshard Wars! This minigame gives the popular bedwars a magical twist that allows players to join one of four teams, purchase upgrades, collect randomly dropped spells, and build up defense to protect your Soulshard. Currently, Soulshard Wars is in BETA, and feedback on the game is encouraged. May the best team prevail!
With the long-awaited scoreboard update, you can now customize your scoreboard with the information you want to display. By going into the Scoreboard area of the /me menu, you can edit your scoreboard to display a secondary currency, current House points, Event Tokens from the currently active event, or even just a countdown to the next class you can join! There were a couple of other improvements made, such as organization in the Marketplace, and correct display of banners and scarves in the Marketplace. Lastly, mobs now only follow you a certain amount of distance, which should make your journeys across the map much safer!
COMMUNITY UPDATES
Let's give a huge congratulations to the insanely skilled winners of both the Flying and Dueling Tournaments for this month! Starting off strong, let's applaud DemetriDemarcus, Expiroces, and tillyrawr on winning the 3v3 Flying Tournament. As for the 3v3 Dueling Tournament, let's congratulate the talented Tillyrawr, EdenLovesMommy, and DemetriDemarcus! A big thank you to everyone who participated in this month's Tournaments, and we hope to see you at next month's!
The February Community Engagement started off strong with two sweet self-love and petcare-themed activities! During the activity, players were given a series of tasks to complete as well as a loving pet that they could take with them as the tasks progressed! From simply making your bed to exploring the outdoors with your companion, players were given a variety of interesting things to do. The event ended off with a competitive game in which players were sorted into different candy cafes where they had to compete against other cafes to see who could make the most spectacular sweets! A big thanks to the Inquisitorial Squad for this month's event, and we hope you all enjoyed it. We can't wait to see you for next month's community engagement!
