I am going to get into it, Duelling is loved for both Academics and Arena, but today I'd like to discuss the Academics Side of things.
Hunger Games is a Great Gamemode for Duelling, as of right now, Arena is focusing on theirs and their own stuff for that, but what makes Hunger Games, actually Hunger Games, has to be the maps as well as Chests and overall Gameplay of it.

So Duelling, at an Academics Standpoint, is very Limited with the Maps for Hunger Games, some may be Buggy in terms of Health, some may have Blocks Misplaced that could ruin the things, in which, the only Solution I can think of is, Remaking Old Hunger Games Maps, and also Making new Ones.

The very few that I have seen are is, The Train Railway, The 4 Bridges (Water Underneath them) and the Tall Trees ones, all have Pros and Cons. In which I'd like to point out, so if they are Remade in the Near Future, they can look back on this Suggestion and try to fix or try something new with them.

The Train Railway - It's a fairly sized Map, but it's Small in Size, Compared to the other 2 I have mentioned above, it is the Smallest in size. A solution to this would be to Enlarge the Map in Scale and maybe add more Trains and platforms for people to Duel each other on. On the other hand, it does have a few Hiding Spots which are well known, and they don't stick out like a Sore Thumb, you're able to find these Hiding Places and eliminate the players. However, my biggest con for this map is the Underpass, the part with the Lava, I've personally seen someone be knocked back into it and Die, or, they've somehow got stuck in a block for it and died, my Solution for this is to make the Underpass more open, and to remove the Centre lava, it just causes hassle.

The 4 Bridges - Honestly a Decent Map, but a Big Issue for this is that it's a Hiding Bonanza... In which the Map is VERY BIG, and people are going to Hide but you can't find them, the goal for Hunger Games isn't to Hide, the goal for Hunger Games, in this sense, is to Hunt People Down, we don't have Loot Chests or Special Chests for Academics Hunger Games because of the reason, I don't know at all, and it should be looked into in-depth. Another issue at this moment in time, as of writing this is that, when you spawn in, it gives you 100HP, in which it should give you 10,000hp. Overall, The 4 Bridges isn't without its Merits, it has a Decent Size for a Hunger Games Map, and it's easy to Locate people that you're already locked onto. But as for a Solution, try to make less large Areas for people to find a Small Gap in and Hide.

The Tall Trees - My Biggest Issue with this is well.... The Trees... I will Re-Iterate, Hiding is not the Point of Hunger Games, the Trees that scatter most of The Map is basically The Issue, my Solution for this is maybe making The Trees more Separated, so people can't just Ascendo up and Hide with it, what makes it more Worrisome is that people could use this an an Advantage and put a Skin with the Wood Texture and Hide until the End of the Match just for the Rewards, overall size is good but as well as the Border, it's ice, at that point it doesn't even feel like a Map, it's a Map for people to hide in. Again for some Solutions, Revamp it entirely, make it something like the Planet Endor from Star Wars or something, with small Floating Cabins and Pillars etc, reference what others have done Online from google.

As for Future Maps, I don't know what's to come, only the Builders and Academics do, there are loads of Other Gamemodes for Academics Duelling that have been Done, but haven't gotten Maps for it and Duelling, to my Knowledge, has 3 that can be redone entirely (The 4 Bridges could have some parts re edited and said above), I'd be happy if we got 2 more for Late 2024 but considering there is lots to be done, I don't mind waiting for New Maps that have their Areas, Size and Gameplay that have been thought out Properly as well as Tested Properly.

that's all, thanks for reading, - deahtlish

To me the idea of Hunger Games has always been to be spread out during a grace period, then slowly but surely be forced towards the center by a flaming ring, a world border, or the map around you collapsing, so that in the end you are forced to face off against other people or die while hiding from them.

This allows the most daring to stay in center and keep others away from it, while allowing those who want to gather power-ups, healing packs and what not on the edge. The difference here is as mentioned we don't really have much to collect, but the zone shrinking could be a good way to force people closer together, perhaps scaling with how many people has died, or based on time passed.

That said Academics dueling is supposed to be less competitive than challenges by the arena team, allowing more learning and less direct 1 on 1 and 2 on 2, which is why FFA's with equal year students, house teams, hunger games and such are great for academics.

I believe there's good takeaways here, but need to keep in mind that this should be the first step into what dueling can be like if you're less competitive.

Stay curios and have a magical day

This is more so for the Overall Parts for Academics Duelling, If these Ideas were to be Accepted, it would definitely bring more People into Duelling Classes, and maybe it could Invite Teaming for Hunger Games, with actual Mechanics as well, inbuilt ones, similar to those on Popular Servers, and as for Chests, I believe there are plentiful Ideas that can be done for what could be inside them, it's just that, maybe the Academics Team is busy with other things and so, for Chests and Items, it would probably take a bit off time, but it's an Amazing Payoff !

The Hunger Games we currently have for Academics can take a lot of things into Consideration, in which they should, Hunger Games is loved on Majority of Servers separate from PotterworldMC, and it should be done justice in a Proper Manor, and also by people who Respect the Gamemodeand its History for what it was during MCSG Days or The Hive Days.

Hello there @Deathlish !!

I'm here to inform you that this suggestion has been partially accepted! We have fixed the bugs that were present in all three classes that led to inaccurate health balances and stat bundles being applied to players. We have also fixed parts of the arena not having magic enabled, as well as making the death boxes consistent.
We have also modified the train railway map and put barriers above the fire.
We won’t however be shrinking the trees and train railway maps, but we will look into shrinking the four bridges map, but there is no ETA for this.

Thank you so much for creating this suggestion and we hope you have a magical day!
