I've really been putting this off for a while, around a year, mostly because I've been trying to explore as many possibilities for myself as possible. It's been a while now and I thought it'd be iconic to come out during Pride Month. I'm so thankful for the support I've received within my family and I truly feel as though a weight has been lifted off of my chest, except I've almost forgotten how to breath; I'm still finding out more about myself and it's scary to think that there are things about myself even I don't know. If you're unsure of where you stand, take your time, no need to rush.
Let's talk about mental health.
This doesn't just apply to Potterworld, but everywhere. The things you say and do are going to have an effect on others. Putting someone down if it makes you feel better is in no way acceptable. I feel like mental health and player to player/staff interactions need to be addressed and maintained professional depending on the environment. I'm not pointing fingers, or really naming anybody in specific as I haven't had many experiences to talk about. However, I know that throughout the past few days I personally have been really down, mainly because of my High School transition, but that's not the point of this message. If you see somebody struggling, or someone who expresses struggle, be that person to comfort them, be there for them. Based on the way I've been feeling, I'd never wish that on anybody, nor should any of you. Please be aware that the things you say, and do can have a big effect on somebody. People should not have to be put down on Potterworld and have those struggles affect their real life. It's simply not okay. Be better, be the person to cheer someone up. Talk to someone, don't exclude them, or hold yourself superior to them. We're all here to have a good time, and it's important that you are kind to others and maintain the reason we're here. I had an amazing time on the Build Team and I’m gonna miss it a lot - thank you to all who have supported me throughout the past four and a half months. All good things must come to an end :,) ”Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” ~ Dr. Seuss
