i've been trying to log on for a few hours now and i've heard about a few other people having the issue today as well. Is this a problem on the server's side?

I've been trying to connect for about twenty minutes. However every time I try it simply loads the terrain for roughly ten seconds and then disconnects. I've tried waiting about five to ten minutes and then reconnecting however that didn't work. I'm using 1.12.2.
