A suggestion for flying class

When you finish the race, and you didn't win, instead of being tp'd to this closed off lobby, you get teleported to these stands where you can watch the finale race, like right after you still get the 10 AC, and can join a world if you don't feel like watching, but some people want to watch the race of the top 4 finalists, so they can learn their tricks, and get better at flying next time.

This sounds like a nice idea, but spectating during flying isn't super viable as courses are long and you would only see people actually flying for a short amount of time. Also, massive changes would have to be done to the current flying maps to even be able to have stands which, again, would only allow spectators to view a fraction of the map.
If you want to observe others flying, the PotterworldMC Youtube channel has a bunch of past Flying Tournaments that you can view!

I think this would be a great idea as well. What if we could add a spectating area near the end or at the end of the course so spectators can see the last few moments of the final race between houses? I think that'd be pretty cool!

It would be cool, but imo it may not work out because students may get frustrated only being able to see the race for a few seconds. Sometimes finals are held on a map backwards, so students wouldn't be able to see the "end" in that case

Thank you for this suggestion! We love to hear what ideas you have for the server. Unfortunately, this suggestion has been declined for a few reasons. Flying is fast-paced and along a course, so players wouldn't be able to see much of the race from the stands. It would not practical to add stands, as the builds for the courses would have to be altered. Furthermore, the extra spectators could create more lag for the fliers participating. Some professors allow students to spectate the finals if they ask, however some do not do this. This would also create more work for the Academics team trying moderate the class. We wouldn't want to make the professors allow students to stay if they don't want to.
