Welcome to the Academics weekly assignment for the week of November 21st, 2021! These weekly assignments will give our Professors the ability to showcase some of their lesson ideas here on the website. Each assignment will be posted for a week, in which everyone will be able to read about the topic and respond to the assignment prompt. This week's assignment is "Herbology - Mandrakes,” created by Arne (tqrpiar).
The assignment is as follows:
Mandrakes are a type of magical plant whose roots look like a human baby. When handling a Mandrake, people are obligated to wear earmuffs as the cries of a Mandrake have the ability to knock people out—or even kill a person depending on the Mandrake’s maturity.
Most commonly, Mandrakes—otherwise known as Mandragora—are used in potions. The potion is used to untransfigure people who have been cursed or transfigured against their will. Otherwise, Mandrakes get used as weapons to try and knock people out with their painful screams.
You’re handling a baby Mandrake in Herbology and your earmuffs fall off. Immediately, the painstakingly loud screams fill your head! What happens afterwards?
