Adding non-staff/staff roles for daily field trips! A fun way to explore and learn.

Greetings everybody! My name is Calista Labelle, and recently me and some of my good friends on Potterworld came up with the idea of taking students on adventures all around the map! What drew my inspiration was one day I noticed some students had unfortunately missed a class (they’re so popular I know they fill up quickly!). Spur of the moment I decided to see if anyone was interested in taking a little trip down to the town of Hogsend. We ended up taking a small group down, and we had an absolute blast! We did a scavenger hunt with some prizes at the end and everyone seemed to have a really good time. Before the trip ended, I wanted to see what the groups opinion would be on me starting to do these daily would be, and every seemed super onboard! Since then, I have built up a team of amazing, hard working and dedicated players and our idea has truly skyrocketed! We have been discussing trying to make this an official addition to the Potterworld agenda. So, I am starting with this post to explain a little bit about what we do;

Once (sometimes twice daily) we will take students on field trips to different Potterworld locations. The FTA (Field trip agent; myself) and the AA (Assistant Agent) will plan a location prior to announcing the trip. We gather lots of cool history and facts on wherever we are visiting. When then speak to our chaperone team, to see if anyone is available to assist with the trip. They are able to help students with any concerns or questions, and make sure all the rules we have set in place are followed. Once we arrive to our location, we give students about ten minutes to explore the area. This gives them a chance to become more familiar with the spot, and to see the beautiful work done by the Potterworld build team. After they have finished exploring, we all sit down for a small “history lesson” on where we are. We also include some trivia for all those Potterheads out there!

We greatly appreciate and value our participants who come onto our field trips, and if we were to become a part of Potterworld’s agenda, I know we can start planning bigger and better things! We have so many bright ideas and we can’t wait to see where this can go.

Heya, @cqlii!

We're always looking for ways to improve the server and make it fun and fair for all players! Thank you for taking the time and consideration on making this suggestion! I’ll have it be brought up to the staff team, and I’ll send a response to you as soon!

Have a nice day!

Hiya @cqlii!

Thank you again for taking the time to make your suggestion! After careful consideration from the staff team, we've decided to decline your suggestion. We definitely think that this idea is nice in concept, but the implementation of this role would be a challenge. All this role would be doing really would be wandering around the castle and showing students around, which we do not feel is a necessary position, as this can be fulfilled quite easily by players unofficially.

Additionally, this role would take a lot of work to set up as an official position, and a lot that would need to be planned and organized, such a routes, position requirements, and applications. Routes would all have to be planned, and showing around players might become chaotic, which we would not like to have happen in something that is organized officially. Applications would be difficult to create because they would have to be based mostly off knowledge of the castle, which would then be difficult to judge applications by. Also, having an application means that they would then have to be held by staff/non-staff expectations. Because of the above reasons, this is something that we not like to add, but players are welcome to keep doing this unofficially.

Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful day!
