Bookshelf inventory

Make bookshelves have inventory slots only accepting books. This way you can store 27 books per block, which makes it possible to create libraries on housings. Attached is an example as found on another server, to give an indication of what I mean.

What happens if you break the bookshelf?

I really like this suggestion, it would make storing graded assignments so much better. I'm guessing that once you break the bookshelf it would work the same as a chest and all the books drop.

As Nives said in the reply, it breaks as a chest, forcing the books to drop. Since chests are a standard thing in vanilla, I suppose coding bookshelves to have the same properties wouldn't be too hard to do.

Thank you for suggesting this, but it has actually been suggested before! The original thread is in fact accepted and is still being worked on! You can see the reason as to why we liked this idea here. We will post any updates on the original thread, so if you're interested, I definitely suggest keeping an eye on that one!
