Bring back Azkaban

Azkaban is probably one of the most fun locations that Potterworld had to offer. It's a shame that it got replaced by the current Azkaban which is a place where you do a couple of quests (which were also annoying imo, the only thing that I remember is climbing to the top of Azkaban several times and spending hours finding the secret exit thing) and probably forget about it later. The other thing that current Azkaban has to offer is Dementors which surprisingly are my mob of choice for farming, but I've also noticed that people never come there.
Now about the old Azkaban. For everyone who didn't had the chance to witness it, this might help you

It was available for everyone (with a broom at least) and it was some sort of a dungeon with checkpoints which you unlocked on your way to the top which had a portal to the famous Yassmir, a boss that you needed to beat. I personally beat Yassmir more than 10 times and it was very cool that you could go with your friends and fight a boss together.
I know that Potterworld plans on bringing some sort of dungeons and bosses into the gameplay but I think it's a shame if we just forget and waste the old Azkaban.

Thank you making this suggestion, as we're always looking for ways to improve the server and make it fun for all players! We understand that the challenge that was previously at the Dark Prison was a fun addition of gameplay. Therefore, we have accepted this suggestion. We are planning on adding this back in some form, but we are not sure exactly on how yet. Sadly, we don't have an ETA at this time on when this would be added back. However, keep an eye out for any updates on this thread!

While we initially liked this idea, unfortunately we can no longer do it due to the cease and desist on canon locations. This prevents us from releasing any new content related to canon locations and it also restricts us from promoting the new releases, such as through the forums or on Discord.

I don't think you understand the weight of this statement. Saying this seems like we will never get any new content in the places of the server that actually matter. Hogwarts will never get new content going forwards? Repressed evil is based in ministry, and I know y'all didn't scrap it because of that. There's always ways to go around cease and desist, the lore team wouldn't exist if we didn't do that in the past, It is a choice. Players would be heavily disappointed if you completely disregarded what this server is and what this server always was.

I want to respond to the points you bring up. I want to make clear that we absolutely understand the weight of that statement, but we also understand the weight of Copyright Laws in the US. Any little thing we do leaves us liable to be sued, and have the server completely shut down, and that's something we'll work to avoid, even if that means erring on the side of caution. There is no way to "go around" a Cease and Desist. Changing the names of things does not fall under fair use or parody laws in the United States. You'll notice that since the Cease and Desist, the Lore Team has stopped renaming things, and we've moved towards making our own original ideas.

The Cease and Desist presented us a challenge, and as such, we had to evaluate what we could and could not do. In the end, we decided to use the world we've built as a foundation as a way to tell new and interesting *original stories*. We've been doing this since even before we were hit with the Cease and Desist.

Lastly, I want to draw attention to the point you made here:

Players would be heavily disappointed if you completely disregarded what this server is and what this server always was.

The server is never something that "is and always was". It has evolved quite a bit over the last 10 years. We'll continue to push foward and try new things, because without innovation, we falter. Fundimentally, the server has changed from 2014, when we had very little technology and had classes and small-world exploration as the basis for our game. Now we've got quests, leveling, events, classes, arena, activities, dungeons, gauntlets, and so much more. The game will continue to evolve, while respecting our roots. Our guiding mission has always been to allow players to come and live our "their Wizarding Story". That continues to be true, and will continue to be true into the future.

Thank you for replying and always being open for respectful discussions, I appreciate that.
I do want to say certain things, you don't have to address them. I still stand behind my words, and maybe someone in future decides to revisit this.

First of all, after a bit of research, it appears both my suggestion, and the other suggestion which happened way after mine, got accepted AFTER Cease and Desist. With that in mind, I can't just simply agree with what you're saying because there's inconsistency in decisions and views you're having.

Old azkaban existed before the current one, in fact, like I said before, old Azkaban is more of a *original story* that you're speaking of. You keep painting it as something it isn't. Nothing about the old Azkaban was related to Harry Potter except the triangular building, you couldn't even say it was quite a prison back then.

And finally, Azkaban is inspired by Alcatraz Prison, which is a real life location
