Hello everybody!

We are excited to unveil our July patch note which features 28 new daily activities for minigames, improvements to our Flying minigame, and several other quality of life additions to all elements of the server.

New Minigame Dailies

We have now added an additional new 28 minigame dailies in order to create a rotating system. How this will work is that there will be three sets of daily activities available per minigame which rotate on a daily basis.

Each day will feature the same base participation daily activity, however the other two activities will be different. Below is the schedule of the dailies:

Wednesday

Thursday

Flying Timers and Leaderboards

A few months ago, support was added for the recording of the time it took a player to complete a map in Flying. We have since expanded this system to now not only record these times, but also persist them across games.

This allows us to track your fastest completion times in /gamestats as well as broadcasting in your game when you achieve a new personal best! We have also added a small leaderboard to each of the map icons in the /gamestats GUI to show the fastest three flyers. We hope to eventually expand this to be an on-world leaderboard highlighting more players!

In addition to displaying your fastest race times, you can also view statistics on how many times you have placed a certain position on a map, as well as how many times you have raced on it. Please note that these statistics are new and will only track games that have been played after July 1st 2023.

This information is all accessible under the “Flying” icon which is found under the “General Minigames Statistics” icon.

Additional Minigame Changes

  • Changed how loss stats are given out in Quabbleball to prevent players who lag out and rejoin being penalised for leaving the game
  • Fixed Quabbleball crashing if a player disconnects during the position selection phase
  • Increased the Quabbleball AFK timeout to 30s from 20s
  • Removed spectator mode from Parkour Race in Party Games and replaced it with hiding players; this is similar mechanic to Cauldron Dash and allows players to still parkour after they have finished
  • Added a system to prevent players from placing double slabs in Speed Build in order to fix the associated block glitches
  • Adjusted the formatting of times in Party Games finish messages to display the time in minutes and seconds, rather than just seconds
  • Tweaked the AFK system in all minigames to prevent it kicking players who were AFK during the waiting, cooldown or end phases of a game; it now only runs while the actual game is in progress

Miscellaneous Bug Fixes & Additions

  • Fixed the “Today’s Most Played” widget on the website displaying Minecraft colour codes in the description of a game, they are now stripped
  • Fixed a bug where the player scoreboard would display the wrong time for the next class if it was over 24 hours away
  • Added /dispose, /trash and /bin as aliases for /disposal
  • Reordered the player scoreboard to prioritise active statistics, cooldowns and quest information (in that order) over that of party members and the next class
  • The Next Class component was also moved to be above the House Points
  • Added Trapped Chests to the Mine Depot Furniture Shop and Furniture Buyback Shop
  • The order of tournaments under the “Past Tournaments” on a game’s page has been updated to prioritise the most recent tournaments at the top of the list

That brings this month’s patch note to a close. We hope you enjoy the new minigame daily activities, and we are open to any feedback relating to them! It is also our aim to release our June development blog within the next week which will detail what the Developer team have been up to over the last 6 months, as well as a progress report on 1.16, and the road ahead.
