You may be aware that the Poltergeist team currently sits within the Technology & Development department and are responsible for handling player feedback and suggestions. They were placed in this department due to the testing component of the role but, over the past few years, the Poltergeist team reduced in size, and testing has naturally shifted to be primarily handled by Grounds Keepers. This has left the small number of Poltergeists taking a more community-focused role with suggestions.
The Technology & Development leadership team are currently hard at work on progressing large new pieces of technology for the 2.0 update, as seen in our latest teaser video! We have therefore decided to revamp our suggestions & feedback processes by merging the Poltergeist team back into the Community Management department, combining it with the Wizencouncil.
Now, you might be wondering why we’re doing this now, and why we think this move is beneficial.
Bringing the Poltergeists and Wizencouncil into a new, combined team allows us to have more team members actively reviewing player feedback and suggestions, enabling us to process them faster and redefine a clearer, more streamlined process for referring suggestions to the relevant departments for consideration.
We're also very aware that, as a server, we have accumulated a large number of suggestions that are currently marked as “On Hold”. With the 2.0 update under works, we have the opportunity to revisit and potentially integrate feedback that has been placed on hold over the past few years. Over the coming weeks, the larger Wizencouncil team now has capacity to revisit past suggestions, ensuring that we provide updated decisions wherever possible rather than leaving older suggestions indefinitely on hold.
The new team also inherits the Wizencouncil responsibilities of reviewing edits made to the public wiki and handling support tickets that are submitted to our website. By merging the two, the team will be focused on providing community support for both queries and feedback.
Our focus right now is speeding up the process for suggestions and reviewing our current backlog. In the future, we’ll also look to release more feedback forms and branch out into other ways to gather feedback!
