Congratulations to jake_ft for joining the ranks as the Head of Community Management! In light of his new position, I had the honor of interviewing Jake about his time as a part of Community Management and his new position.
Jake has been on the team for over two years since he joined as a Jr. Prefect. After becoming a Lead Prefect and later Assistant to Head of Community Management, it was only a matter of time before making the jump to Head of the department. Jake talked about his time in the department, saying:
I've always enjoyed helping people, both in-game and in general life, so being able to handle tickets and guide new players and staff is always really rewarding.
Community Management is an incredible department for its dedicated members! Their hard work is what keeps Potterworld running; without them, we would all be lost… literally! The gentle guidance of the members of Community Management is what helps many players early on.Additionally, it seems that players are not the only ones that are appreciative of the Community Management department!
I've learned a lot about the server as a whole and the amount of time that the members of all of the teams dedicate to create such a wide range of content. The leadership and coordination of everything takes a huge amount of work, and I'm extremely grateful to be able to contribute to that at the Head Staff level!
However, even after years of experience, a new position can be daunting. Being a Head of a department brings in a whole new set of challenges to face, so it calls into question: how is he feeling about this transition? He commented:I'm really excited to be in this position, and I'm looking forward to bearing the torch that Erica has carried in leading the department! Having been on the prefect team for a long time, a lot of my work as Head so far has been learning the Scribe team, and I'm super excited that we were able to release Scribe Publisher applications just a couple of weeks ago!
Of course, we are all looking towards the future. As Jake mentioned, Scribe Publisher applications are open, meaning the team is expanding and welcoming in new members. This is an exciting time, and I highly encourage any interested to check out the applications on the website! He elaborated on the future of the department, saying:Like many members of the department, I see CM as the staff hub for helping players and ensuring the community are having a good time. With Scribe Publisher applications open, I'm hoping to grow both the Scribe team and the wiki to enable us to create more useful pages to both help players and also share some of the amazing content from other teams like lore and Arithmancer screenshots of our builds! We have some exciting plans for the future of Scribe, and I can't wait to see them unfold.
This has been an informative interview! A huge thanks to Jake for offering his time in this interview and giving us all an insight into his new position. We at Daily Diviner wish him nothing but the best as a Head, and we are excited to see the new heights that Community Management will reach!
