Hello my dear readers, and welcome back to the Daily Diviner! Three months into the new year and Potterworld has already released plenty of content for players to enjoy. With the release of the Valentine’s event and regular minigame tournaments, there is plenty to enjoy on the server right now. During all of this, the Store team has been hard at work releasing new cosmetics for players to immerse themselves with.

With three new Store Releases out since January, what unique stories will players create for their characters? The new releases will help with just that! Let us take a look at new items from January, the Allegiance update from February, and the brand new club package for Faeries!

The Duality Store Releases landed in January with a splash of color and contrast. This release has something for everyone; whether you are a fan of bright colors or monotone hues, the Duality Store Releases have you covered.

The Wolfgang Death Effects are a shining blue to brighten up any duel, and there are three color iterations of the new Butterfly Wand Effects. If vibrant hues are not to your taste, the monochromatic tones of four new wands may interest you! The choice between sleek wands and bright effects creates the opportunity to mix and match as one sees fit.

In February, the Allegiance Expansion Store Releases brought a fresh new update to some beloved packages. The Phoenix, Auralock, and Dark Follower Allegiances all gained some new exclusives! Each Allegiance has new emotes, new wand effects, new death effects, and a new warp key. With these new perks, there is no better time to join these Allegiances!

The new Auralock Emotes allow you to step into the role of an enforcer of the law, the Phoenix Allegiance Death Effects will make you burn up like a true Phoenix ready to respawn, and the Dark Skull Warp Key will add a dramatic flair to any intimidating Dark Follower. Which sounds most intriguing? Check out the announcement here to see all of the new exclusives.

Lastly, but certainly not least, the brand new Faerie Club Package Store Releases came out earlier this month! This long-awaited addition to the club lineup has not disappointed. The Faeries fit right in with the Vampires and the Werewolves; how will these players interact? Only time will tell! Meanwhile, players can start joining this club by navigating to the store page.

Becoming a member of the Faerie Club will mean a new in-game Faerie Prefix and access to a Discord channel on the main PotterworldMC Discord server. A brand new spell, three new crowns, and a special emote are just some of the perks of becoming a Faerie. Check out the store page here for more information on the exclusives!

What a start to the year! These have been some fantastic releases to welcome in 2025. If any of these releases piqued your interest, you can help support Potterworld and get some of these cosmetics for yourself. Have a happy spring!

Valentine’s: Environmentally Friendly or Not?
Editorial
Written by Silquer
Edited by bluecherub

Hello my dear readers, and welcome back to the Editorial column of the Daily Diviner! The Valentine’s Event has players visiting the Enchanted Valley this year, a classic venue for the season of love. Valentine’s is a busy time for the valley, and it made me wonder; between all of the visitors trampling through the forests, chocolate wrappers, and date nights, is the Enchanted Valley Valentine’s Event environmentally friendly? That is the question I will answer today. I spoke with three residents helping run the event to get to the bottom of this.

I first spoke with Val in the Flower Shop. The orders for flowers are coming in too fast; a common occurrence during Valentine’s! It begs the question: is it good for the environment for so many flowers to be taken from the gardens? I asked Val just that. Thankfully, she said that all flowers are taken from the Harvest Fairies. She informed me that it is perfectly safe for Harvest Fairies to be caught in a safe, magical net, and they will gift flowers to those who catch them. They are then released, no harm done!

I watched as Val put a beautiful bouquet together. The bouquet had some twine used to tie the flowers together; upon closer inspection, it was biodegradable! Val told me that they borrowed from Pinocchio’s large collection of safe fishing twine. Clever! She gifted me the bouquet after it was nicely wrapped, and I carried it with me, happy knowing it was so friendly to the valley’s nature.

I then visited Master Phineas in the Art Shop next door. He explained that many visiting students were helping out with his artwork collection; I was naturally concerned about the paint consumption. A new paint bucket for every painting must be very wasteful indeed! However, when I expressed this to Phineas, he immediately assured me that the paint would be reused on other projects. He informed me that paint can be kept for years if it is properly stored, and he directed me to crates that held a wide collection of paints that had been used and reused over the years. My fears were assuaged! If you want to help Phineas paint, you can do so knowing that you are not wasting a drop of paint.

After that, I took to wandering the town and went to the river, where I met Pinocchio. With his trusty fishing rod gifted by Gepetto, it seems like he is recruiting people to help fish!

There is quite a large compendium of fish to fill out, and it certainly is not easy. What happens to all of the fish that people catch? After asking Pinocchio, he told me of his and Jiminy Cricket’s strict catch-and-release policy. No risk of overfishing here! Not to mention, there are several different places to fish, with many different types. It certainly helps that the fishing line is biodegradable!

So… is Valentine’s in the Enchanted Valley environmentally friendly? I would say so! After speaking with some of the passionate residents, it is clear to me that they respect and love their town and its surrounding wilderness. Now you can go out and enjoy the event knowing you are keeping the beautiful valley safe!

Endangered Magical Creatures
Server Spotlight
Written by autumnngrace
Edited by littledead

Greetings, witches and wizards of Potterworld. I love animals, and as you may know, there are many endangered species in the magical world. In this article, I will write about three of them: the Flower Pandas, African Penguins, and Gytrash. Without further ado, let’s get started.

The Flower Pandas are believed to be a good omen in Asian culture. It is thought that post-disaster, the Flower Pandas come in and foster new growth in affected areas. They are three times the size of the already huge unmagical variety of pandas, and their coat is made of grass, which helps them camouflage in the wild. There has never been a successful capture of a Flower Panda, and because of this, the only known magical property they possess is in their feces. It is used within herbology and aids the overall health of plants.

African Penguins were discovered by a magizoologist who had been tracking Rhinumpents and found himself in the Sahara, where he happened upon the first recorded African Penguins. He then decided to stop tracking the Rhinumpents and study the seemingly out-of-place birds instead. Their species can breathe fire and gained the better-known nickname “Flaming Penguins” after the magizoologist witnessed one scorch a tree. Since they have never been successfully put into captivity, researchers have only ever been able to use powder of their teeth to any magical effect, although that claim is unsubstantiated by peer review.

Gytrash have coexisted with humanity for much longer in recorded history, both magical and unmagical alike. These ghost-like wolves could be seen traveling during the night, their icy pelts reflecting any human-made light that drew near. They have been long misunderstood colloquially as ill omens of death, as plants and animals which came near them would succumb to the icy chill which they emanate. Gytrash are often found in forested areas in the northern hemisphere. Their known magical properties include their fur, which is extremely cold, even when removed from the wolf. Putting this fur into a potion creates a freezing effect that can damage opponents.

These animals are only a few of the endangered species within the magical world and are all unique and important to the environment. We must take caution and research ways to keep these precious animals safe, as they are in imminent danger of extinction due to overharvesting for research and potion production. As always, thank you for reading. I will see you in the next edition. Bye!

The Environmentally Conscious Magical’s Guide to Adventuring
Lifestyle
Written by yakko__
Edited by bluecherub

Nature is full of beautiful locations, flora, and fauna. Particularly in the magical world, it seems almost tailor-made for adventuring and camping! However, even Magical people must be aware of their impact on the environment and treat nature with respect. Not only will this help the environments you explore thrive, it will help keep you safe. Here are some ways you can make your excursions into nature more conscientious.

The most basic way is to learn about where you are traveling to or adventuring. Whether it is a popular nature reserve or the middle of nowhere, look into the kind of environment it is, what plants and animals live there, and if possible, find area-specific guides or tips. Armed with information, you can be prepared for what you might encounter.

Another simple but crucial action is to clean up after yourself and your group. This might seem like a no-brainer, but considering how common litter is to come across, everyone could use a reminder. However, you should also avoid leaving pollution after your trip as well. Most animals and plants are sensitive to magic, so consistent and direct spellcasting leaves traces in the environment. Keep magic use to the minimum, and try to avoid using it directly on the nature around you.

The exception to that is starting campfires. Conjured fire is preferable to burning fuel sources, as it generates significantly less air pollution. If you or someone else in your group has to start a fire with fuel, using something like wood is less harmful than burning fossil fuels. While wood burning is not without its problems, fossil fuels have a longer-lasting impact. Just make sure the area you are in is not a fire risk and fully extinguish it and clean up the ash before you leave.

Something else to keep in mind if you wish to be more environmentally conscious is leaving things where you find them. While the plants may be cool and the animals cute, remember that nature does not belong to you. Taking cuttings of or digging up plants, particularly ones unknown to you, can harm them. There are some exceptions if someone is working in an academic or career field which requires this, but the average person should not do this. Even career Herbologists can misidentify or mishandle wild plants, so even then the utmost care must be taken. Some magical plants can also attack, so following this tip will keep you and the plants safe.

The same goes for any animals and creatures you encounter. Though they may be cute, they are not domesticated animals and are not your pets. Keeping a wild animal as a pet can cause behavioral, health, and psychological issues and generally lower its quality of life. Magical creatures in particular can be very sensitive to changes in the amount or type of magical energy around them, and bringing them into a Magical urban area in particular can cause extreme stress and outbursts. These animals can also pose a danger to you, and if one escapes your home or you dump it, it can cause harm to the local environment.

Overall, you should strive to follow the basic tenet of exploring nature: leave no trace. You can try to go beyond this by taking steps in your regular life as well. It is impossible for anyone to leave absolutely no trace on nature, so learn the different ways humans interact with and impact nature on a larger scale. This can inform your personal choices, such as purchasing higher quality items which will need replacing less often or being mindful of spellcasting rather than centering your own convenience. You can also get involved with local conservation groups and efforts and educate others on how to treat nature with care and respect.

No matter what, you will leave a trace. What kind will it be?
