Greetings everyone, and welcome back to the fourth edition of The Weekly Owl! This week has been calm for the most part, despite the lingering tension. However, that tension has resurfaced in the past few days, and we’re excited to release the information that we have been collecting. This past week, SLGTara has joined the team as Writers! We are so excited to see what she can bring to the table.
Recent Events
A few days ago, after betraying the Ministry and siding with the Dark Followers, Aaron Morte escaped the Phoenix Refuge prisons and murdered an Aurorlock. Soon after, a skirmish between the Phoenixes and Dark Followers occurred, leading to a loss for the Phoenixes and Leugim Manxwood’s escape alongside Aaron. As for the other prisoners, Laurel Solaire and Hannah, they did not escape during the fray. Shortly after, the Phoenixes went to Aaron’s housing (the old Aurorlock Camp), where they saw Kan Deathrose and Keira. Kan, who was searching for Aaron Morte, accidentally casted at Keira, and Yumei Fireheart rushed her back to the Phoenix Refuge. The injuries she sustained were not severe, so she made a quick recovery. At the old Aurorlock Camp, Dark Follower Clarke Nolan was quick to arrive as backup for Aaron, and not long after, Dark Council members Henry Chimera and Tara Yurei arrived. Over time, several other Phoenixes, Aurorlocks, and Dark Followers turned up at the scene, as well. Surprisingly, all of the Dark Followers, except Leugim, were let go, and the Phoenixes went back to the Refuge with him in their custody. Again. However, it wasn’t long before Henry, Tara, and Aaron attacked the Phoenix Refuge and freed all of the imprisoned Dark Followers. In response to this, the Phoenixes decided to ambush those who escaped to the Dark Follower Camp, and in doing so, they captured Tara, Henry, and Aaron. As for the Dark Followers that were previously imprisoned, they were nowhere to be found. After a couple of days of silence, Leugim returned to the Refuge, recaptured by High Phoenix Sal, and showing signs of an unknown condition.
Later within the week, Will and Anna, two Dark Followers, were imprisoned by the Phoenixes for trespassing and stealing a valuable book. Afterwards, the two broke out into a fight, causing quite an uproar. This was all according to plan: a diversion to allow their escape. Contrary to their plans, however, their disruption got carried away, and as a result, Will was knocked unconscious, and Anna badly bruised. Star opened the door to their cell to take Will to the medical tent, but the Dark Followers took this as an opportunity to escape by using Will’s wand, which the Phoenixes had forgotten to confiscate. Henry Chimera, who was in possession of the wand, began attacking Phoenix members in a burst of rage, and the Dark Lady, who was close by at the time, helped in fighting them off. Once all of the Dark Followers escaped, they immediately went searching for their wands. Many Phoenixes were injured during the prison break, but the Dark Followers’ scheme was shut down by Sal’s arrival. The only ones who weren’t taken to a cell were the Dark Lady, Will, and Anna; the three of them managed to escape before Sal could reach them. In an unexpected turn of events, the Dark Lady returned with the Dark Lord at her side, demanding the release of their members. When the Phoenixes refused, Noah suggested they strike a deal. In exchange for their freedom, the Dark Followers would not step on Phoenix territory for a week. The Phoenixes immediately declined the offer, finding it humorous. The Lord of the Phoenixes then arrived, and after the two discussed counter offer after counter offer, Joshua pointed out how the Dark Lord's bargains were less beneficial to the Phoenixes than releasing the prisoners would be to the Dark Followers. However, the Dark Lord did not want a complete cut off from harming the Pendragons, and as a result, the inmates remained in the Phoenix prisons while the Dark Lord and Lady returned to their camp to develop an undeniable deal for the Phoenixes.
On January 9th, Saturday, the prisoner Alexander Crystalbone, was found paralyzed in his cell. Phoenix member Edwin, who discovered him, quickly sent an emergency owl to Star, and she rushed to the Phoenix Refuge to tend to Alexander. How this happened has yet to be revealed. At some point during the event, Edwin sent another owl, but to Werewolf Elite Abigail Varulv, since Alexander is a Werewolf as well, and she is known for her knowledge and experience in healing. With Star leading the investigation, she and a few other Phoenix members tried to figure out the cause of Alexander’s current state, but once Abigail arrived, Star gave her permission to enter the cell with supervision. After a while, Abigail announced that neither her tools nor the general healing potion that was retrieved from the Phoenix medical tent could help Alexander. It was then decided that he needed to be rushed to St. Merlin's. High Phoenix Samuel, who was present throughout the entire investigation and assisting Star, gave Abigail permission as long as both Alexander and herself were under constant supervision. Abigail, Kan, and a couple of Phoenixes transported Alexander to St. Merlin’s immediately to tend to his mysterious ailment.
Not long after, we received an update from the Phoenixes at the Phoenix Refuge. High Phoenix Sal went to check up on prisoner Henry Chimera, a member of the Dark Council, when he noticed that the prisoner seemed to be going on hunger strike. Sal forced him to eat before he died, but when forced to go to the kitchen at the Phoenix Refuge, Henry pulled out a knife from his cowl, and demanded his cane back. Henry attacked Sal and a fight broke out, just as Callie Selwyn, Werewolf Elite and former Werewolf Beta, arrived at the scene. Henry managed to free Tara Yurei, Nyx, and Alexander Crystalbone, but left Leugim unrescued, as there wasn’t any time. Nyx wasn’t able to successfully escape and was recaptured by Sal, and Callie Selwyn was imprisoned by High Phoenix Max Fireheart, who arrived shortly after the incident in the kitchen.
Interviews
This week, our Reporters managed to get an interview with the Dark Council member Henry Chimera while he was being held captive in a Phoenix jail cell. The interview got us some perspective from the Dark Followers' side of action.
Q: Why and how did you get [into the Phoenix prisons]?
A: People, who will soon forcibly stop breathing, managed, by some weird miracle, to capture me. For now.
Q: What will you do when you get out?
A: Complete the Dark Lord's plans, and a personal errand, murder everyone associated with my capture.
Q: I'm assuming Phoenixes, Aurorlocks, and Vampires are on the target list, correct?
A: Several from each of those.
Q: Will you still assist with protecting the Dark Follower Werewolves?
A: That is not for me to decide. But, any loyal Dark Follower is under my protection. I do not speak for the Dark Lord. No one does. But him.
