Created in October of 2020, the WizNewsletter serves as a way for students and staff to recap on the month's updates. WizNetworkers spend countless hours researching, writing, editing, and implementing each section so that the happenings of the wizarding world do not go unnoticed. SERVER ANNOUNCEMENTS
The champions of the galaxy have finally been revealed with the conclusion of the 2023 Star Battle Tournament! With the May the Fourth event, the Star Battle Tournaments were hosted with three individual minigames- Star Racing, Escort Payload, and Domination. The tournament ran from May 4th up until May 31st, and now, the winners have finally come triumphant. We'd love to congratulate BREADKING17 for overpowering in Star Racing, LividK for conquering in Escort Payload, and Jutarii for dominating in Domination. A huge congrats to all who prevailed in these tournaments- you can view the leaderboards on the Official Potterworld Forums. Thanks to all who participated in these celestial tournaments, and thanks to the staff who hosted! We hope to see you next year at our 2024 May the Fourth event!
The new Pirate Store Release has so many arrrrrgh-some items for every player to enjoy! With 5 new permanent items and a brand new bundle, this release includes a vintage Skull Staff, a Pirate Ship Broom Appearance, an enchanting Ship In a Bottle Warp Key and so much more! To check out these new items, visit the “New Releases” section of the Potterworld website or try them out in the in-game store before purchase.
Player feedback has been heard, and the Store Team has made some Droob-tastic changes to the Drooble’s Order Subscription! Not only have they added easier ways to purchase the rank, but they have also updated the perks. Upon joining, subscribers will receive a new Drooble's Order Broom! Along with this broom, the other perks are still available, such as the Hat Enchantment, the Droobify Spell, the Pet Drooblebaby, and many more! Plus, you can now choose to automatically renew your subscription for monthly, three-month, or six-month periods. Join or renew your subscription now on the official Potterworld shop!
GAMEPLAY UPDATESHappy Pride Month everyone! For this month's event, we would like to welcome you to the coastal town of Portovenere! To join in on the fun, you can speak to Nyan Kevin at the Great Hall. Mayor Guilia and the Portovenere City Council are looking for help to keep the festival running smoothly so, make sure to check in with them to see how you can help! Minigames and Repeatable Gameplay are also available! Take part in an exhilarating speed parkour or soar through the elytra to gain extra Pride Tokens. Make sure to check out the shops for exclusive rewards. You can purchase these rewards with Pride Tokens and exchange them for gold. Remember to visit Vixen Van Gogh's art class activity and test your memory or help decorate Portovenere by creating Pride flags! During your time here in Portovenere try and check out the order board filling the town's requests and make all the different items available during this event to unlock exclusive rewards. We hope to see you all there. Remember, happy Pride Month, and enjoy the festival!
In the month of June, bug fixes and improvements were announced! Improvements for minigames were released, for instance, Quabbleball's minimum queue size has lessened to six and there is now a 30-second AFK timeout in Flying. Additionally, the Gauntlet rejoin time has increased to five minutes and the restriction on messaging players who are in the same minigame has been removed! Some fixes were also added for server stability, for instance, server crashes will now return players to the Hub rather than disconnecting them. Furthermore, when you connect to the server and there are no Hub servers online, you will automatically connect to a main world! Updates to the command /f list are included, if you have no friends on your friend list will now tell you how to add friends! The Potterworld Staff is also currently working on updating the server to 1.16! Last but not least, it was also announced that all players now have access to the unsorted chat and are able to communicate with new players who join the server. Players can access this chat via /ch mu or /mu <message>, and be sure to look out for the messages welcoming new players!
A brand new way to explore has made its way to the Potterworld: Adventures! These are unique and self-contained stories utilizing the functions of quests, interactions, and NPCs that span over the course of several weeks to satisfy all of your adventuring needs. A new section in your Quest Journal called “Activities and Adventures” will be where all of the Adventures can be found in the future. The first Adventure brought to you follows the finding of a pirate’s map along the shores of Longbay Landing, a coastal town. However, it seems that more questions than answers have arisen from the mysterious map, and it’s up to you to discover its true purpose! Not long after the release, the Daily Diviner released an article featuring Captain Hookwink, a knowledgeable and brave man who’s ship docked in Longbay Landing! What’s keeping you from questioning him yourself? It seems a shady figure has been spotted in the area muttering things about “hidden secrets” and “the truth.” What could she be hiding? Make sure to talk to the NPC, Bailey, in the Great Hall today to start your adventure!

Let’s give a big congratulation to the winners of all this month’s tournaments! Starting off strong, let’s congratulate M_Engel, tillquila, and jacquas on achieving victory in the 3v3 Flying tournament. Let’s not forget EdenLovesMommy, jacquas, and LividK who showed their strategy and strength in the 3v3 Dueling tournament! Finally, congratulations to Frebii on taking first place in this month’s Quabbleball tournament. We hope you all enjoyed the Arena Team’s challenges and tournaments, and we can’t wait see you next month!

Continuing from last month’s May the Fourth Event, the Star Racing and Plasma Showdown tournaments are back! To start, let’s congratulate M_Engel, cqvetown and HarryPotters on being the speediest in the 3v3 Star Racing tournament. After some intense training, outraqe, jacquas, and lividk took home the gold in the 3v3 Plasma Showdown tournament! We hope you enjoyed something a little different from the Arena Team, and make sure to keep an eye out for other challenges and tournaments.
