I agree, as an extra fast travel method, but I’m not sure about it being one way because it would be frustrating to accidentally click it and be teleported all the way back to hogsworth. Maybe it could be locked behind a quest, or require a spell like appareo at level 51 to get to the warp key?

Yes! I think it would be useful to mention this before this quest as well because you see people say that their spells have disappeared all the time, and if it was mentioned maybe when they got the wand then it could help so they don’t have to ask why their spells are missing
