Well considering that we have vampires and werewolves, this could work but instead of fairies (which were small creatures in HP universe) I would maybe make it as Veela. Unlike fairies which are classified as beasts, Veelas are humans that resemble something that someone would call a fairy. Fleur Delacoir was a quarter Veela, for example. Here's a better description of a Veela from HP wiki:
Veela were described as looking like incredibly beautiful women, with moon-bright skin and white-gold hair that fanned out behind them, despite the absence of wind. They had the ability to
hypnotise and mesmerise most people attracted to women with their seductive dance, who would then try to impress them.
Veela had their own type of
magic which
did not require a
wand. When Veela became angry, however, they
transformed into something more like
Harpies — their faces turned into cruel-beaked
bird-like heads, while long scaly wings burst from their shoulders, and they could launch balls of
fire from their hands. Veela seemed to be quite an irascible race.
