Build - New Tools, Plushie Suitcases & Upcoming Projects
With the addition of hundreds of new textures to our library, we've developed a new tool to use the textures on unplaceable blocks. The build hammer is enabling us to customise builds in many more ways than ever before! It's a new way of building, but the difference is amazing.
We recently finished the mushroom plushie habitat for the GD department, with this providing a home for the mushroom plushie! Its leafy walls hide several new 1.18 blocks - an exciting first for potterworld build projects!
We're currently working on a couple of Academics requests for upcoming class design projects, and we'll be shortly picking our Hogsend upgrade back up, using all of the new textures to bring it to a whole new level. Alongside this we'll be picking up revamps of other key locations in preparation for the 2.0 work being done by GD, as outlined in the recent server plans announcement!
Community Management - Revisiting Expeditions & Moderating the Server
The team has kicked off the new year strong with our moderation team continuing to help players through chat, tickets and website support tickets!
The Curator team is hard at work on two new expeditions for the coming months - these Expeditions bring brand new tech and themes to the library. The first will be themed around time anomalies, and the second is just starting development now!
Fun fact: in 2025 we handled 913 in-game support tickets, 69 website support tickets, and hosted 43 expeditions! Across all of our expeditions, we had 661 attendees who earned a total of 772 badges
Media - Store Releases, Competition Winners, & Incredible Stats from 2025
In December, we released our Magifaisteio Store Releases & Sale. This introduced cool Model Engine animations to pets, making them more alive than ever before! We also announced the winner, brieky, of our Video Competition. Check out their winning submission here. The first Quarterly Art Giveaway winner, Wildsam, was also announced! Enjoy their submission here:
Be sure to check out our ongoing January - March 2026 Quarterly Art Giveaway too!
In January, we started off with the Toasty Store Releases! This introduced heart-warming Hot Cocoa Cup Warp Keys and many other cosmetics to our store. It also came with a heap of wool colours for our Pet Sheep, as well as the ability to use hex colours in pet and wand names!
The 2D, 3D, and Skin Arithmancers are currently making plenty of graphics, renders, and skins for our upcoming Valentine's Event and February store release. Our hard-working Artworkers have also been busy making hundreds of models to give our world a new, fresh look in the future!
Fun facts ahead! Throughout 2025, the Skin Arithmancers made 54 skins, the 3D Arithmancers made a total of 94 renders, and the 2D Arithmancers put together a grand total of 478 graphics. The Daily Diviner team released 16 issues with a total of 65 articles last year. This was accomplished with only 12 DD Writers and DD Editors! Closing off, in 2025, players voted on the server 15271 times. Raven students were in the lead with 4661 total instances of voting, closely followed by Serpent that voted 4564 times. That is some serious dedication - well done, everyone.
Technology & Development - End of Year Updates
At the end of December we enabled support for players connecting on version 1.21.11 of Minecraft, ensuring that we continue to allow players to join on the 'latest' version. We have already begun preparing for 26.1 version support too, and are now just awaiting its official release! The Developer team was also hard at work creating the underlying systems for the new Potions and Herbology professions. You can see a prototype of the new brewing system here!
The Grounds Keepers have begun testing the Valentine's 2026 event, as well as several new Class Design projects. The Developers are working on wrapping up a few backend projects, as well as currently establishing the 2026 roadmap for Potterworld development.
From exciting news in the Build team to Media’s Video Competition, the year is off to a great start. Stay tuned for next month’s department updates!
