Created in October of 2020, the WizNewsletter serves as a way for students and staff to recap on the month's updates. WizNetworkers spend countless hours researching, writing, editing, and implementing each section so that the happenings of the wizarding world do not go unnoticed. SERVER ANNOUNCEMENTSDuring this frosty season, the Frostbitten Store Releases made their appearance as the last store installment for 2021! This chilly release saw the debut of the Water Staff, the Tundra Scenery, the Winter Scenery and a cute little Penguin Pet to call your very own. Additionally, we saw the return of several seasonal favorites like the Holiday Reindeer Antlers, Christmas Tree Broom, and the Holiday Emote packs among many others! These items are only available seasonally, so if you haven't gotten one today, make sure you get it before they leave for the holiday season on January 1st!
Our adventures in Brazil this holiday season brought with it the Rainforest Store Releases! Now you'll be able to bring home one or more of the Conucko pets in the theme of Fire, Ice or Lightning. You'll also be able to redecorate your housing with the brand new Rainforest Scenery. Additionally, this store release came with a 30% off Holiday Sale on all store items - except the new Rainforest Store Releases items! This sale ends on the 1st of January at 12 AM PST, so make sure you make use of the sale before time runs out!
GAMEPLAY UPDATES
This year’s Winter Waltz has arrived and we are beyond excited to visit the Brazilian magical school, Castelomagia! There are a multitude of quests that are available to be completed by players, including one-time completion quests and side quests that repeat every 12 hours. Repeatable gameplay such as minigames, games, and stargazing are also available to partake in! Many exclusive rewards and collectables are up for grabs, which can be purchased outside of Castelomagia’s Great Hall. The event ends on January the 8th, so be sure to visit by then!
COMMUNITY UPDATESThe Academics team hosted a day of 24 back-to-back classes, available to all players. Each hour of the day had a different class than the one before, and players had the ability to participate in as many as possible. Players also got to experience several different lesson plans, such as competing with their house during Trivia, learning choreography during Dance, and touring Beauxbois Academy during Magical Architecture! It was a fun and action-packed day, and we hope you all had a blast!
Over the course of the holiday season, we held our art and writing competitions! Artists were encouraged to create a winter/holiday-inspired art piece, and writers were prompted to write about an activity that they usually do during Winter, or one they would like to do. Winners of each competition won House Points and Potter Points. The first place winners also won their choice of the Holiday Reindeer Antlers, North Pole Staff, or Snowflake Staff. The winners for both the art and writing competitions were announced. For the art competition, JertyBerty came in first, JellyMew was second, and Arkarium came in third! For the writing competition, AstralGeminii took first, Silquer slid into second, and Enzologies came in third. Each of the submissions were fantastic and wonderful! Congratulations to all of the winners for your spectacular work! If you haven't already, be sure to check out all of the winning pieces in the announcement post on our forums.
As yet another stirring round of Winter Waltz-inspired Tournaments comes to a close it's time to officially congratulate the hardworking winners! To begin let's congratulate DemetriDemarcus, Salmandingo, Shadyobster56, tilllyy & llamiinq of team RAWR XD on securing victory for the Flying Tournament. Of course, we can't forget our Dueling Tournament winners Tilllyy, DemetriDemarcus, oJqck, Maxwheell, & EdenLovesMommy on team Belligerent Bozos for winning the month's Dueling Tournament! A very big congratulations to you all, and a warm thank you to all who participated. We can't wait to see you for next month's Tournaments!
For this December's Community Engagement, the Inquisitorial Team hosted several masquerade ball-themed events. The activities consisted of a fireworks display, a masquerade hangout where players were allowed to socialize and take pictures, and a masquerade-themed escape room! Players were also allowed to create their own masquerade mask and customize their own unique firework at these Community Engagement events. We hope you had an absolute blast!
