Should we have more damage effective spells on specific enemy's?

I think it would help if we could defeat are enemy's faster if we have more damage effect spells like for example: Plant based enemy's like mandrakes in the herbology greenhouse would be weak against fire and for fire type enemy's be weak to water or ice moves like aquatimentum and ice being cometes, and water type enemy's be weak to electric/lighting moves like baulectrium and baulectrius and dementare's be weak to animus exto and more damage effective spell moves if you guys can think about it and it would be cool to do more damage depending on the type of the enemy weaknesses.

tbh I was thinking about exactly this a couple days ago and I think it's a good idea. currently, the system to defeat mobs relies solely on your gear. revelius is structured like an mmo, and in most mmos I know there's at least SOME sort of combat weakness system. it'd add more diversity and strategy to fighting mobs, make combat make a tad bit more sense, and ease the need for spending a fortune on gear at earlier levels.

I think making it sound less like pokemon would be better, but I agree nonetheless.

Thanks and sorry for trying to make it be a pokemon reference just thought about some examples that some spells should be very effective against when facing some certain type of mobs.

Staff basically never take the communities opinion into their decision as an important factor so don't count on any suggestion being accepted because of it. There are obvious exceptions (Thanks Ash!) but that is normally how it works. This is for a variety of reasons but the most persuasive for me is that the forums make up a small number of mostly very dedicated, level 80 players that are not really representative of the server.
Just wanted to say that so you don't get your hopes up unnecessarily!

Ok, I am not trying to disparage you from working to improve the server, in fact I encourage it. I just wanted it to be clear that just because some people on the forums like it does not mean staff will accept it. It also does not mean they will reject it either, it usually just is not an important factor.
What I meant by representative is that graduates make up a very small percentage of the player base yet are the large majority of active people on the forums. This means they have a much larger "voice" in this medium then in others.
However I just want it to be known, I am not staff, I have never been staff, but I have been around the forums for a bit and I notice a lot of patterns so take everything I say with several pounds of salt and a side of pepper.

Hey there @Tuna2!

Thank you very much for your suggestion. This is a very cool and interesting idea for spell damage. I will be bringing your idea up with the rest of the Poltergeists to get their opinions on it as well. Once we have come to a decision I will let you know what it is!

Hello again!

I just want to start off by thanking you again for this suggestion. I have brought your idea up with the Leadership Team and unfortunately we will be declining it. This was an extremely interesting and nice idea, but it is not viable with the current system we plan to have. Another concern we have is that this might cause a lot of confusion to general/newer players. We do have a lot of plans for different aspects of the server and we are just unsure how this idea would work universally at the moment. However, we did feel this was an interesting concept and really enjoyed it. Because of this we may end up implementing a similar system when we develop and implement Dungeons, but that is not set in stone.

We would love to hear any future ideas you have for the server's improvement and hope you have a wonderful day!

Oh well then atleast it was a good shot though and yes it would be confusing for the new players to get adjusted to that when they only read the books and movies not other harry potter games it self but thanks for listening to my idea :).
