Department Updates - June
Feature
Edited by Silquer
Welcome back to the Daily Diviner’s department updates! June has been a quiet month of steady work, and there are some fun updates to share! Read on for reports from the departments themselves.

Academics - Academics Restructure
Recently, the department was restructured to support our hosts in both the Arena and Academics teams. The Class Helper and Arena Squire roles became the brand new Academic Aide, and our Professors and Arena Masters are now able to opt in to help with the others' activities. You can read more about it here.

If you're interested in joining the Arena and/or Academics teams, feel free to apply for Academic Aide!

Media - Store Releases, New Upcoming Voting Site, and A Heap of Social Media Content
Our Store team started the month with the brand-new City Store Releases, introducing three new pets, a bunch of Baseball Cap hats, and much more! The Store team is also working on the July store release. We are also setting up a new voting site to replace ServerPact due to its shutdown. This will be available to players in the near future!

The WizNetworker team published a heap of new content for our social media platforms. This included two new posts and nine short-form video releases. We are excited to release more content in the future, including further teasers for Potterworld 2.0!

The 2D and 3D Arithmancers are working on graphics and renders for our upcoming store release. Our Skin Arithmancers are also working on skins for events coming up later this year!

It has been wonderful to hear from Academics and Media, and the other departments have been working hard as well. Be sure to stay tuned for next month’s department updates!

Pride in Iris Cove
Editorial
Written by Silquer
Edited by gospojken

Hello, dear readers, and welcome back to the Editorial column! Pride is in full swing on Potterworld. The 2026 Pride Event marks a return to Iris Cove, a beloved port town and classic venue for Pride festivities. What can players expect in this year’s Pride Event? Read on to find out!

Entering the Event Hub and going to the left-most gate reveals a lovely waterfront with docks full of boats gathered to celebrate Pride. Fairy lights draped from flag poles are a welcoming sight, encouraging players to venture further into the Event Hub to talk to vendors. Some vendors have even set up shop on the water. Make sure not to miss the collectables and exclusives hidden away on these ships! The Rainbow Ducky collectable and The Pride Staff wand appearance reward are must-buys for me.

Classic minigames make a return in the Event Hub as well. There is a fun variety of minigames on offer— from the simple “Rainbow Dropper” through Pride flag hearts, to the challenging “Running on Pride” speed parkour, there is something for every player to enjoy here (even if you do not like parkour)! My personal favorite is the “Diagonal Lane Elytra”, which takes players through a Diagonal Lane decorated for Pride.

To leave the Event Hub, we take the magical portal to Iris Cove. The bright town is a welcome sight! Disembarking from the large ship we entered on and walking down the docks leads to the Daily Taskboard, full of small tasks to complete for rewards of Pride Tokens and Spell Points. Climbing the stairs into the town takes us to the town’s center, which is a great starting point for questing.

There are five repeatable quests to complete every eight hours. Sunan, who can be found in the last house of the red district, is asking for help gathering supplies for a gift basket for their crush. Be careful, as you will have to climb some trees to get the perfect fruits for the basket! Just a short walk away is Charlie, found in their art studio in the orange district, who needs some help fulfilling various orange-themed art commissions.

Speaking with Lydia in the yellow district will start the quest to find lemons throughout Iris Cove, which will be used to bake a wonderful pie for their beloved if one can manage to collect enough before the magical ferry to Iris Cove closes for the season. These lemons can be collected every 8 hours! Along the way, in the green district across town, Celesta needs help sorting their mail orders. Read letters and decide which crystal will help the writer in need; choose wisely!

The Fashion Studio in the blue district belongs to Beck, who needs help picking out the best accessory. Solve a riddle to find the perfect pair! Finally, Sam in the purple district’s Library will give a riddle to find a fairy in Iris Cove. The search can be difficult, but it is worth it for the scenic views you will travel on to find it!

The Pride Event ends on July 1st, so there is still time to take the ferry and enjoy the beautiful builds—perhaps even time to get some collectables! I hope you all have had a happy Pride and enjoy the last few days of June!

A Guide to London and City Store Releases
Server Spotlight
Written by LMNJ
Edited by Silquer

Hello everyone! Welcome back to Daily Diviner. Today we will be hearing from the magnificent Laura Robins, a local Londoner and witch. She will guide us to the best locations in London while recommending brand new, spectacular store releases! Let's hear from the woman herself.

Hiya, witches and wizards, have you been planning a trip to London? Well, I am here to help you out. Diagonal Lane is the perfect location for any witch or wizard looking for a holiday while keeping close to nonmagical London. And, I do believe, there is a wonderful pet that you can take on your trip. The Pet Flamingo! But, maybe don’t take it outside of Diagonal Lane because it will bring attention to you from nonmagical individuals.

Now you may be wondering, “What is the best way to commute?” Well, the glorious and historical King’s Cross Station! This station is quite large and commutes thousands of Londoners and foreigners every day. Now, the best companion to take with you would be the Pet Pigeon, because nonmagical people will not give attention to a pigeon! That is because London is full of these little birds.

Are you living in Mundane Lane? Or do you have relatives there and you are in need of a visit? This is the perfect small suburb on the outskirts of London where all the houses are… mundane. Every house is identical but if you want to stand out you should get a Pet Duck. These animals are amazing pets that can provide you with eggs for your breakfasts. Just don’t ignore any letters or you might find them when you crack the eggs.

As a witch, I realize that the clothes we wear are not normal in unmagical London. That can easily be fixed with a hat! The Green Baseball Cap is the perfect hat to blend in for all Serpents. Then there is the Yellow Baseball Cap for those with a kind heart, I am talking about the Honeybadgers of course. For those who are book smart and looking for a color to show off their Raven pride, check out the Blue Baseball Cap. Then finally, for those who are brave and want their hat to portray that, the Red Baseball Cap, perfect for Griffins in disguise.

Missed the train at Kings Cross Station? No worries! You can easily get from place to place with the Telephone Box Warp Key. You might recognize this warp key because it strikes a resemblance with the nonmagical telephone box that is stationed all around London.

Take a stroll around Grimmane Lane. It is a beautiful place to shop and live, and it has a nice park where you can enjoy nature while having that taste of the city only feet away. Have you ever wanted to make your own city park? Well, there is a great way to start and that is through the City Park Scenery. This scenery gives you the creative freedom to make your own special park, surrounded by food stations and even a car!

I am Laura Robins and this has been my Guide to London. I hope this helps all of you extraordinary witches and wizards in your exploration of London. And I hope that all of you awesome readers can find interest in the new store releases that go well with this guide. Have a magical day!

Creativity and Passion in Academics and Potterworld 2.0
Staff Highlights
Written by Silquer
Edited by gospojken

Hello, dear readers, and welcome to the Staff Highlights column! This issue, I had the pleasure of interviewing two longtime and accomplished staff members, TbhKate_ and MikiMau7, to learn about the work they’ve done and their journeys as staff members! Here is what they had to say:

How long have you been on the staff team?
MikiMau7: I joined in July 2022, so nearly 4 years now!
TbhKate_: I’ve been back on the team for about 9 months, but I’ve been on and off the staff team at different points over the last 7 years.
What made you interested in joining the staff team?
MikiMau7: I first joined the Build team, so at the time I really liked all the amazing builds I had seen for the recent events and thought it would be really fun to be part of! I was also encouraged to apply for Moderation or Academics by a few of my friends, so those roles soon followed!
TbhKate_: Well, I rejoined back in October because Droobledore asked me to help work on the Potterworld 2.0 update, which has been my focus since I’ve been back. Ever since I started doing game design on Potterworld about 7 years ago, I’ve had a passion for creating content and bringing cool ideas to life.
What are your current staff roles?
MikiMau7: I am now the Head of Academics, a Sr. Prefect and part of the Staff Training Crew!
TbhKate_: I am the Lead Game Designer on Potterworld currently.
What type of work do you do in your positions?
MikiMau7: As you can probably imagine, Academics takes up majority of my workload! For that, I work on and review projects for Class Design, help out for Arena challenges, host classes, and I am also in charge of all department decisions, with the help of the amazing Jae! At the moment, my main focus is our Automated Classes, which you may have seen sneak peeks of during our 12th Anniversary Live Event!
As a part of the Head Staff team, I also work closely with the other Head Staff and Leads to oversee the server and improve the player experience!
In my Community Management roles, I help out players and handle any in-game moderation necessary, as well as help in teaching other staff about moderation!
TbhKate_: Right now, I’m pretty much 100% working on the Potterworld 2.0 update. We are completely redesigning and revamping our world and systems for this update, so my time is pretty much all taken up by working on the update. To give a few more specifics, so far my primary focuses for the 2.0 update have been working on the new Potions profession, developing our new puzzles systems, and now I’ve moved on to work on all brand-new world quests.
How much time do you approximately spend on your staff responsibilities each week?
MikiMau7: I usually spend about 5-10 hours online in-game, but I also do a lot of work when I'm not online! I'm not too sure, maybe closer to 20 hours per week?
TbhKate_: Since rejoining the team and working on 2.0, I spend an average of 25-50 hours a week working on the update! Everyone involved in 2.0 is putting in a tremendous amount of time and effort to this update, and we’re so excited to bring 2.0 to the community.
What do you enjoy the most about your roles?
MikiMau7: I really enjoy the creativity I can use in Academics and Class Design! Seeing my ideas turn into a real lesson, and seeing how much the students enjoy those classes, is probably the best part of what I do!
TbhKate_: What I enjoy most about working on Potterworld is being surrounded by such hardworking and passionate people. Working on 2.0 has without a doubt been the most fun I’ve ever had working on Potterworld, and we’ve all been so motivated to keep pushing and creating since starting talks of a new update late last year. Since then, it’s been so fun to bring all of our magical ideas to life alongside such hardworking staff members!
What do you find most challenging with your roles?
MikiMau7: I think probably time-management! I'm a full-time university student, so making time to study, while also balancing all my work on Potterworld and looking after myself IRL can be a lot sometimes, but it's incredibly rewarding! I'm so thankful to Jae and the department seniors for keeping Academics running smoothly while I take my exams.
TbhKate_: In general, Game Design is very deadline-heavy. We operate under strict timelines in which content has to be finished and polished so it can be released on time to the playerbase. Now that I’m working in the context of Potterworld 2.0, this fact is still as true as ever. It can be overwhelming at times to consider how ambitious the 2.0 update is, considering the team working on the update is quite small. The stress of meeting deadlines is as real as ever, because we want to get this update out to players as soon as we can! Thankfully, as I mentioned above, I am surrounded by such strong and motivated people who are working alongside me on 2.0, which has helped immensely when it has felt overwhelming!
What is a favourite memory you have made during your time as a staff member?
MikiMau7: Hmm that's a tough one!! I think maybe my first class as a Jr. Professor. I was so nervous to do something wrong, or break something, but all my students were so supportive and excited to see me host, and I had some really great friends helping in the class!
TbhKate_: My favorite memory so far has been attending the IRL Potterworld staff team meetup back in 2022! I got to meet so many of my friends that I had worked with for years, which was really special. A few of the people that I’ve met on Potterworld have become lifelong friends which I am so grateful for.
Is there anything more you would like to say to those reading this interview?
MikiMau7: I want to thank everyone who contributes their ideas, time and passion to the server! We couldn't be where we are without you all, whether you're a staff member or student, and I can't wait for you all to see the amazing things coming in 2.0.
TbhKate_: I know that players are eager to learn more about 2.0 and finally get the chance to play it, and I just want to assure everyone that we are still hard at work and can’t wait to share more teasers and gameplay with everyone in due time! Thanks for bearing with us and waiting patiently while we get 2.0 ready for release.
It has been wonderful to hear the passion MikiMau7 and TbhKate_ have for their roles on the server! A big thank you to them both for taking the time to share their experiences. Be sure to stay tuned for the next issue, where more staff interviews are to come!
