Created in October of 2020, the WizNewsletter serves as a way for students and staff to recap on the month's updates. WizNetworkers spend countless hours researching, writing, editing, and implementing each section so that the happenings of the wizarding world do not go unnoticed. Application Updates
The Media department has closed the Skin Arithmancer applications, and has accepted many new members! Thank you to all those who applied. They have opened Daily Diviner Editor applications, so please check that out or our other many open applications if you are interested in applying.

SERVER ANNOUNCEMENTSFollowing this month's May the Fourth event our store managers brought back several store items for a limited time. Such items included the Mercenary Bundle or the Star Settlement Scenery. We were also greeted this month by the brand new Pet B-Unit which rolled its way off the shelves! Unfortunately, if you missed these May the Fourth themed store releases it is too late to get them now, but be sure to keep on the lookout for the future!
Seven years ago, PotterworldMC opened its magical gates to the public! After such an achievement, an anniversary sale on all of the store items was granted with a 40% discount. Shoppers quickly flocked to the sale before it ended on the 20th of May!
GAMEPLAY UPDATES
May the Fourth be with you! For this year's May the Fourth event, players were able to take a ride on the Centennial Hawk near the Boathouse to dive into a galaxy far, far away. This event came with a few new mini-games including Payload, Domination, and Star Battle. Along with these fantastic mini-games, there was an all-new quest for you to try out! At the event, players were able to use collected parts to make their very own Plasma Blades! Players were also able to get outstanding awards; Plushies, toys, and blades galore!
For Potterworld's 7th Anniversary, The Ministry of Magicians opened its doors to allow you to travel back to your favorite past events. From the Fine Arts Festival, to Butterbrew in Hogsend and much more, it's truly something you wouldn't want to miss! You can locate this event by talking to Kevin outside the Great Hall where you will then be transported through Potterworld's history, where there are new quests to complete and fun mini-games to join in on like the Cursed Classroom Dropper, and the Return to Trickington Parkour! You can also earn some cool rewards like the Owl Plushie, Vermissile spell, and even a Happy Anniversary emote! Be sure to check everything out before the event ends on June 19th.
The systems team has brought some new changes to the server regarding gear and magic. Gear stats will be relative to their level and rarity via a calculated formula, and gear is now tradable through /trade and sellable by /shop! Brooms are now able to be crafted with "broom components." All quest rewards have been adjusted to reflect the economic change. Many spells have been changed in the way that they work, and mob drop rates have been significantly increased. We would like to extend a big thank you to the systems team for making this miraculous update possible! Many other changes have been made, so be sure to check them out!
COMMUNITY UPDATESCongratulations to everyone who participated in the May tournaments hosted by our very own Arena Team. A special shoutout to Tilllyy and DemetriDemarcus for winning the 2v2 Flying tournament, Tilllyy and Expiroces taking the win during the 2v2 Dueling, and finally Tilllyy, Expiroces, and MagmaC4 on winning the final 3v3 Star Racing tournament of the year! Great job everyone! We hope to see you all back for next month’s challenges and tournaments!
The Arena Team over the past three months has hosted Potterworld's first-ever arena season. In this season, witches and wizards competed in dueling & flying challenges to earn arena points and come out on top of the leaderboard. After a very close competition, we would like to congratulate Expiroces on becoming the overall Season MVP! We would also like to congratulate Tilllyy & Bastaii on becoming Flying and Dueling MVPs! Good job to everyone that participated, we hope to see you in the next season!
The WizNetworker Team was truly delighted to release a competition pertaining to Potterworld's 7th anniversary! Players were tasked with submitting one photo and one writing piece targeted towards answering the prompt: "Why do you think players have enjoyed this server for all these years?" Winners are able to win an exclusive Droobledoll Hat & Potter Points! Submissions closed on May 29th and winners are projected to be announced at the latest on June 5th. Thank you to all those who entered!
The Inquisitorial Squad brought Potterworld players a wonderful variety of activities for May! This special Anniversary Community Engagement event consisted of 2 anniversary-themed activities. One of these was Memory Reflections, a hang-out type activity represented to reflect on our memories and spend time together. Many bonds and memories were revealed by our players during this activity. Then came Back to the Past which was an activity designed for players to work together to repair a Temporal Turner so they could travel back to modern-day Potterworld. Be sure to look out for next month's Community Engagement event!
