Created in October of 2020, the WizNewsletter serves as a way for students and staff to recap on the month's updates. WizNetworkers spend countless hours researching, writing, editing, and implementing each section so that the happenings of the wizarding world do not go unnoticed. Engineer Intern applications are open and waiting for you! Part of the Game Design department, the Engineer Team are staff members who create and implement the spells and mobs you see and utilize in the game. If you’ve ever been interested in that or want a closer look at the behind-the-scenes of the server, check out the application on our website! If that kind of work isn’t of interest, maybe a spot as a Writer on our very own Daily Diviner Team sparks your fire! SERVER ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Store Team worked hard on releasing some new store releases fit for a king or queen! If you’ve ever wanted to feel like royalty, now’s your chance. Two new items were featured in this release: an elegant Regal Wand and a rather majestic new Regal Broom! However, this release also featured a few of our store’s older gems as well. Re-explore the Tiara Collection, we’re sure there’s one that fits your style! Not interested in those? Maybe a ferocious Lion Pet to accompany you on your royal endeavors would suit you more. To explore the new and other recently released items, make sure to check out the New Releases section on our store! Of course you can preview not only these items, but all of our store in the in-game store on our server. Your crown awaits!
With witches and wizards going back to school, everyone was looking for a great bargain! With this, Potterworld’s Back to School Sale was something you did not want to miss out on. All items- yes, all items had been reduced to 40% off! With it only lasting until September 23rd, the witches and wizards of Hogsworth were able to browse the wares on either the Potterworld website or the In-Game Store. We hope you have a great time at Hogsworth, and cheers to another school year!
The Barrel Racing Tournament is a thrilling competition where players ride their barrels through a challenging course to be crowned the champion. After some intense rounds, we are proud to announce the top 5 contenders for this tournament: in fifth place is Teheeo with 32 points, in fourth place is BlagdenCZ with 43 points, in third place is Aglyn with 71 points, in second place is xNyn with 86 points, and our champion with an impressive 124 points is Mxckeyyy! Congratulations to all of our winners and a huge thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a great success. We hope to see you all again next time!
Let’s give a huge congratulations to Harrison (Teheeo) on becoming the newest Assistant to Head of Tech & Dev! He’s done some incredible work in his previous positions, including improving the Grounds Keeper team as its Lead as well as the quality of the quest creation tools and 1.16 progress. In this new position, Harrison will be responsible for overseeing all of the teams within the department alongside the current Head of Tech & Dev, Alexis. If you have any questions about Tech & Dev, feel free to reach out to either Harrison or Alexis. Make sure to congratulate Harrison next time you see him!
Music is the light of life, making everyone dance for joy! What better way to bring music to life than this month's new store releases? The Music Emotes and Gameplay release features fall-tastic emotes that include music and our favorite season. You can showcase these new musical emotes and get people dancing during the new quest in Ireland! Seek out Ethan Handle at the new music shop to begin this quest. On top of this, the team has added a new Fire Dust fireplace at Longbay Landing for easier travel for players. Make sure to check these exciting new changes out on the server and on our online store today! Happy Autumn!
The store team gave us an exciting update this month: the Wand Lore Expansion! Players can now access 10 new wand woods and 9 new cores, which can be purchased from the Potterworld store. This update also allows players to show off their unique wand lore more easily, with players being able to hover over a death message to see the wand’s name and its' lore! Examples of the various new wand woods include Purpleheart, which is best for strong-minded individuals, and Lacewood, a wood that looks golden and is popular amongst those who come from wealth. New wand cores also include special items such as Stardust, best for those who excel at divination and ambition, and Bone, a wand core that is best suited for those who are interested in dark magic. GAMEPLAY UPDATESA brand new Adventure, Nature’s Call, awaits all of you curious and dedicated explorers! Though wary, the Shadow Hunt tribe realizes it’s time to reach out for help from spell-casters. But for what task? The Centaur tribe is under attack by an opposing, outside tribe: the Riptide! The word is that your good deeds and success have taken the tribe’s interest. Do you have what it takes to change the tide of the war? Find out by talking to Telocus in the Great Hall Courtyard!
COMMUNITY UPDATES
After another round of thrilling and exciting tournaments, it’s time to announce the September winners! Starting off strong, let’s congratulate jacquas on winning the 1v1 Flying Tournament. Give another big congratulation to yet again jacquas on winning the 1v1 Dueling Tournament as well! What an achievement! We hope you all enjoyed participating in September’s challenges and tournaments, and we can’t wait to see you next month.

We would love to take the time to congratulate the winners of the August 2v2 Quabbleball Tournament! Taking victory was HarryPotters and cheddarsoup, congratulations! In second place was PandaRokstar, followed by the third place winners Frebii and lupustella. To see the final leaderboard of this tournament, you can check out the forums! We hope to see you at next month’s tournaments and challenges. Once again, congratulations to the winners!
At the beginning of August and during the month of September, the WizNetworker Team hosted a giveaway to celebrate the arrival of this year’s Butterbrew Festival in the town of Appleby! In order to enter, players had to submit a screenshot of their best-dressed bird from the quest “Birds of a Feather.” After so many incredibly creative submissions, a winner was chosen! Make sure to give a big congratulations to aklokin on winner this year’s Butterbrew Giveaway! They will be receiving either the Sunflower Crown or Resting Raven Staff, as well as 200 House Points and 100 Potter Points. Thank you to everyone who participated, and we hope you all enjoyed!
