Witches and wizards, today we bring you an update from the development team! A new method of earning gold and Potter Points is here!

What are daily login streaks?
Daily login streaks are our new way of encouraging players to join the server on a consistent basis. This way, if you log in multiple days in a row, the reward you get for claiming your daily reward gradually increases, and continues to do so based on the streak amount. Graduates receive a larger gold bonus, whilst non-graduates receives a very large experience bonus.

Once you’ve reached the tenth consecutive daily login, the login streak will reset and you will be rewarded 25 Potter Points.

Balancing changes
With this, we’ve made a few changes to graduate rewards. Instead of receiving 50 gold for simply claiming your daily reward, you now receive 25 gold by default. However, as your login streak increases, the total gold reward will exceed 50 gold.

The daily reward also no longer resets at midnight, but instead receives a 23 hour and 30 minute cooldown from the moment you claim your reward.

Hello everyone!

The Head Staff team and the Moderation department are excited to announce a change to the Moderation team! A few ranks are being renamed and there's a new role being added to the department in order to help balance things out a little more. The roles are now going to be:

• Jr. Prefect - This is the entry rank to the department and is just the old Trainee rank renamed.
• Prefect - This is the mid rank in the department and functions almost the same as a current Prefect would.
• Sr. Prefect - This is the new rank, and is the senior position in the department. These are similar to Prefects but have more responsibilities.
• Lead Prefect - These are the Leads in Moderation and are the old Sr. Prefects [not to be confused with the new rank].

There are, of course, the other ranks within the department, but these remain unaffected by these changes. We hope that these changes make sense! The application for Moderation will be renamed to reflect these changes, and anyone currently in the process of applying will remain unaffected by the change.

3D Arithmancer applications have now closed. We have decided that 2D Arithmancer applications will remain open until we have filled all our spots. As a reminder, 2D Arithmancers create graphics for the server, such as the banner seen on this post, using photo manipulation software.

We are very excited to welcome new members to the team! To those who have submitted their applications within the past few weeks, we expect to reply to you within the next two weeks.

Hello everyone!

We have decided to write up our protocols regarding reinstatements of former team members in order to bring some transparency to that subject, as well as giving information to any former team members considering joining back.

Each Head of Department has written out the specific protocol regarding their department and ranks, and it’s all been gathered up in the document found here.

Halloween is now upon us and it is time to celebrate Basically Beheaded Benjamin's Deathday Party with all his ghost friends! Head down to the Ghost Ballroom and enjoy the party! The party will remain in the Ghost Ballroom until November 11th.

Scavenger Hunt
Introduce yourself to each of Benjamin's friends. They're all looking for a specific item from their past within the castle grounds. If you find their items, you get to keep them!

Minigames
There are two Halloween themed games available, accessible via Kevin in the Ghost Ballroom. All active Potterworld Minigames will also reward Boo Bucks for the duration of the event!

Skin Competition
To celebrate Halloween, the Media Team is hosting a skin competition! So bring forth your best skin creation skills and participate. Create a custom skin that fits either category. You are allowed to choose a Potterworld hat with your creation. Your submitted skin will be shown to the public with the hat if you chose one. You are allowed to participate in both categories, but you are not required to. The categories are:
- Halloween Costume
- Deathday Party
Once you have finished your skin(s), please use this form to submit your skin. In the case you wish to change your submission, message either the Head of Media or a Media lead.

You have until the 31st of October, 12pm PST to submit your skin.

Each category will have two winners; the Judge's Choice and the Fan Favourite. The Judge's Choice is chosen by a small panel of judges from the Media staff. The Fan Favourite will be chosen by the audience. The competition will be livestreamed during the weekly hangout on November 2nd at 12pm PST. 24 hours...

The Media department is excited to announce we are reopening the Arithmancer applications for both 2D and 3D Arithmancers. We are very excited to welcome new members to the team!

2D Arithmancers create graphics for the server, such as the banner seen on this post, using photo manipulation software.
3D Arithmancers are responsible for creating renders for the server using 3D manipulation software.

Applications will remain open until the 31st of October, 12pm PST. Do take your time when you fill in the application and make sure you are able to meet all the requirements (listed in the beginning) before submitting it. Please contact the Head of Media if you have any questions.

Bringing Back Player Reset
After some in depth extensive testing, we will finally be releasing the ability to reset your character once more! The item is now free on the store and is available for purchase once per month.

All information regarding the reset can be found the store item, but something to remember is that this should be used at your own caution. If you choose to reset, we will not be able to recover anything that might have been lost.

Other Development Updates

• We have increased the friend limit from 30 to 50.
• If a hub is offline, the server will try to connect you to a world instead. This should prevent players from getting kicked when the hub server is restarting.
• All house-points messages will now be sent in a channel called hourglass. You can join and leave this at anytime, just like any other channel.

Bug Fixes

• /house scenery is now only usable at your own housing plot
• You now get notified when your friend goes offline.
• We’ve fixed some 1.13 textures regarding connected blocks (e.g. iron bars).
• /tab is no longer usable in minigames.
• The price of marketplace items can now be set to 0.
• You are now able to remove items from your shop, even if the stock is greater than 0.
• “Click to purchase this item” no longer appears on items if you don’t have the required inventory space.
