Created in October of 2020, the WizNewsletter serves as a way for students and staff to recap on the month's updates. WizNetworkers spend countless hours researching, writing, editing, and implementing each section so that the happenings of the wizarding world do not go unnoticed. SERVER ANNOUNCEMENTS
It’s time to congratulate our 2023 Season 2 Arena Champions. After a few months of hard work & practice, these players have rocked these challenges. To start off in the Flying Category, congrats to TallBlondeDude for coming in first! Next, the Dueling Category. Congrats to jacquas for coming in first! And last, but certainly not least, congrats to M_Engel for first place in the Overall Category! Congratulations again to everyone and thank you to all who participated. For those who made it into top 6 of the leaderboard, you have received 50 Arena Tokens for your hard work! We hope to see even more talented players in the next season!
Every three months minigame maps are rotated and released for players to enjoy! This month, both new and returning maps have been enabled for July's rotation. For example, for Melting Floor the new Magical Schools map has been added alongside returning maps such as Ireland and The Ministry! The new maps of Beach and Silvermorne have also been added for 1v1 Arena. We hope players enjoy the new and returning minigame maps for this season and we encourage you to leave feedback on which maps you'd like to see next!
Get transported to a relaxing island beach setting with the brand new Tropical Store Releases! Waiting for you is a lush Vine Crown, a colorful Coral Scenery for your housing, and some breezy new Wind Wand Effects. Want a little taste of the deep sea? Four beautiful and adorable Sea Horses available in green, purple, red, and blue, are excited to be by your side! The second quarter of 2023 has wrapped up this June, revealing the new House Cup winner! It was a close call, but one house in particular slipped their way to the top. Congratulations to the Serpent House for winning the June 2023 House Cup! Players can talk to the Carnage Count NPC outside of the Great Hall to check out the festivities! Keep the points coming for the next Cup, which will be awarded in late September. Good luck to all houses!
Let’s give a big congratulations to Danielle (MamaDuckie) on becoming the newest Head of Media & Public Relations! In this new position, Danielle is now responsible for the management of all of the teams within this department. She’s been a huge contributor to content released by the Media team ever since she first joined in 2020. Through her time on the team, Danielle showed so much potential and growth and the previous Head of Media, Emily (Ralie), is confident in her ability to help the Media team thrive. We wish Danielle the best of luck in pursuing her new role, and we can't wait to see what she contributes to the Media & Public Relations department!
Thanks to the Store Team, you can now personalize your housing plot with new and reduced prices on housing sceneries! After taking feedback from players, all scenery prices have been reduced up to 55% off. This includes but is not limited to: the Unicorn Scenery, Greenhouses Scenery, and Phoenix Scenery. You can also now browse through your favorite sceneries easier than before by using the Warp Key via the in-game store! The Store Team hopes you all enjoy this pricing update, and encourages you to leave feedback via the Store Items Feedback Form available on our website!
Attention all Arena fans! We're excited to announce our newest challenge mode, Rafting! Compete with other players to see who can navigate treacherous rapids in some new maps such as Candyland, Mutafar, and Atlantis! For more information and updates on Rafting, make sure to check out the Arena Discord. The Arena Team hopes you all enjoy this new mode and have fun getting ready to splash and dash with Rafting!
Get to the Dueling Halls and prepare for our Arena 2023 Season! With many changes and new releases, this season will be one to remember. Two new arenas were added to the dueling halls, as well as an all-new Seasonal Challenge - Rafting! Rafting will be available for the months of July and August only, so check it out while you can. New Arena Protocols have also been added, so be sure to check those out in the Tournament Updates on the Potterworld Forums. Don't forget to check out the summery decorations in the Arena hub, and keep an eye on the Arena Discord for updates for new content updates! Thank you all for the amazing feedback you've given, and a huge thanks to the Arena Team for these amazing updates!
An exciting new feature has been announced to the server: hidden coupons! One of these hidden coupons will be released around the world every month. However, it will be a great challenge to find! Moreover, one hint about the location of the coupon will always be given when it is released. The hint given will either be linked to a recent gameplay release or store item. Only one player can obtain the hidden coupon which will give the player $5.00 to spend on the Potterworld store! When you find a coupon you can check it in /me. Furthermore, these coupons will only be valid for 6 months from the release. Happy hunting!
The Scribe Team is back with some more additions and edits to the official Potterworld Wiki for all players to enjoy! To start, some new pages have been added for you to explore. This includes but is not limited to: Ash Wiley, Meredith Green, Silvermorne, and the Winter Waltz in Silvermorne 2022! Make sure to go check out the rest of the additions for yourself. However, don’t forget to take a look at two rewritten pages: Abigail and Emiliah Yiles. That’s not all waiting for you in this update. Why not head to our Wiki and check out everything for yourself?
GAMEPLAY UPDATESIn the latest bug fixes and improvements update, several changes were made to the game! This includes the addition of new minigame dailies, Flying timers, and Flying leaderboards, and changes to existing minigames. 28 new minigame dailies were added to create a rotating system, allowing players to participate in a variety of different games! Additional miscellaneous changes were made to the game as well. The Developer Team deserves a big thank you for their hard work in bringing these exciting updates to the game. Players are encouraged to log in and check out these changes for themselves as well! We hope you enjoy these updates and have a magical rest of your day!
This year, our Pride Event featured something a little new for our community: an Order Board Competition! To refresh, players had to fulfill a multitude of orders for the town of Portovenere to make sure that the town’s festival ran as smoothly as possible. Without further ado, let’s get to our Order Board Competition Winners! Taking the top three spots were BlagdenCZ, aklokin, and burded, who received 50 house points as well as a temporary prefix for the month. Players ocelotkid7, sergmander, and theiatime followed closely, and ended with the prize of 25 house points! Let’s give a big congratulations to the winners, and we hope you enjoyed this year’s festival!
COMMUNITY UPDATES
As another month passes, new challengers step forward to take their spot in the arena! This month, the 2v2 tournaments proved to be a challenge, but not to the following players. To start, let’s congratulate Jutarii and TallBlondeDude on taking home the gold in Flying! Wands at the ready, jacquas and Jutarii achieved victory in the Dueling tournament. Last but not least, congratulations to _xNadine and M_Engel on winning the newly released Rafting tournament! Thanks to everyone who participated, and we can’t wait to see what you bring to the arena next time.
