Salutations everyone!

As we continue to work towards our server upgrade, we wanted to share some information about some content that we will be releasing alongside the upgrade.

Since the Revelius update, new players have progressed through our complex levelling system, bridging large gaps between quests by spending hours grinding mobs and attending many classes. Our goal with upgrading the server version is to make the server more accessible, and we believe that a progression rework will work well to compliment this new accessibility by making levelling less complicated for 1.18+ newcomers.

This progressions rework will be replacing the current level system (1-80) with just the years (years 1-7 & graduate). In order to graduate between years, you will be able to earn spell points through all forms of Potterworld content - classes, events, challenges, expeditions, quests, minigames, and more. These spell points will be used to learn new spells from your spellbook. You can see the year 1 & 2 spellbook pages shown below.


Each year will have a set number of spells to purchase in order to graduate to the next year, which may remind you of our old academics credits system. Once you have purchased all spells for a certain year, you will need to complete the “Year End Spell Test” - a magical trial to test your ability with your newly learned spells!

Hello everyone!

With the Butterbrew Festival well underway, we are excited to reveal the details of our upcoming Barrel Racing Tournament.

How Will the Tournament Work?

Our tournament will involve a special leaderboard for the duration of the tournament. Players can earn points through placing within the top 3 in a round of Barrel Racing. At the conclusion of the tournament, the top five players on each leaderboard will win a reward! These rewards will be given at the end of the Butterbrew event.

You can view your placements for this tournament on the tournament page here or in-game in by NPC.

The tournament will run from 12am PST on Sunday, 28th September 2025, until 12am PST on Sunday, October 5th, 2025.

What Are the Rewards?

The top five players in each game’s tournament will receive the following rewards:

First Place:

• Temporary Champion prefix
• Temporary PvP Crown hat
• A $5 USD Store Gift Card
• 10,000 Gold
• Light Orange Wand Particles

Second Place:

• 7,500 Gold
• 24 Arena Tokens

Third Place:

• 5,000 Gold
• 20 Arena Tokens

Fourth Place:

This year, Kevin is excited to bring the Butterbrew celebration to Hogsworth's front door - decorating the courtyard and inviting his friends to help whisk you away to other locations, with new and old activities alike!

Activities
You will find 3 activities spread throughout the courtyard, including Order Up, Butterbrew Edition, Butterbrew Tavern, and Pretzel Making! Please note that our Pretzel Making activity is still waiting for a shipment of ingredients, so this unfortunately won't be released quite yet. We will update you once this is released! You'll want to complete the activities in order to obtain the rewards found at the Collectable NPC.

Rewards
You can purchase rewards with Gold at the Collectable NPC found at one of the stands in the Courtyard! Some rewards may be locked behind completing certain activities, so be sure to complete the activities even if your Grimlott's vault is otherwise full!

Update: Potterworld will be re-opening tomorrow (Wednesday November 5) PST.

We have concluded our initial testing of both the server and the new levelling experience, and are now beginning to let staff back in assist with build edits and testing.

The Build team will use the next 12-24 hours to finish key build edits before we re-open. In the mean time we will continue to migrate the Classes system in aims of resuming classes tomorrow too!

We thank everyone for their patience thus far, and we're excited to have everyone join us in 1.18 very soon!

Update: Our testing thus far has been going well! We have our first 1.18 live worlds running now, complete with the new levelling experience.

Over the next 12-24 hours we will continue to test the new levelling experience and other 1.18 changes. Whilst this is ongoing, we will begin migrating our classes server and complete any remaining database chores.

We are aiming to provide an update tomorrow as to when Potterworld will reopen, however our approach will likely be staggered, with classes, minigames, and housing all returning incrementally as we complete our migrations on them.

Update: We have a couple of servers running on 1.18 now on which staff are verifying and making adjustments.

All general data migrations and conversions have now completed. Next steps are to do more verification on the backend and to migrate more servers. We also have some challenges to solve regarding the housing plots as those cannot...
