The Store team is pleased to announce the newest mid-month Guardian Update! We are excited to share that we have also updated the Guardian Challenge in the game with new visuals! This will coincide with the new store Guardian Models.

Our Build team and Game Design team have taken time to polish and revamp the quest for you all. You can find the entrance to the challenge at the same place as before in the Headmaster's Office in Hogsworth. If you were previously on the old quest and did not finish it, there will be a book nearby with "Guardian Challenge - Quest" hovering over it. This will transfer your progress to the new quest we have set up and teleport you into the challenge objective you are currently on!
This new update provides 12 newly improved Guardians and Guardian pets for you to protect yourself while on your magical journey. Buying any of these items not only gives a brand new, brilliant Guardian, but also access to this Guardian as a pet! Even if you haven't completed the Guardian Challenge yet, you can still utilise these fantastic new models.

Any player who purchased a Guardian previously will now have access to both the old and new Guardians. They will also have access to the new pet!

As Season 2 comes to a close, it's time for our Arena 2022 Season 3 Release! The release is Pirates themed and we have 3 new maps for you!

• NEW - Peter's Flight Course: Fly over the city of London and make your way back to the clouds up top! Don't get too distracted by the views, you still have a race to win!
  
• NEW - Pirate's Cove Flying Course: Visit Squalus Cove as a Pirate and discover the old architecture of the town from long ago! Can you find the hidden treasure?
  
• NEW - Submerged Oasis Dueling Arena: Hold your breath and take a trip under the sea as you fight your way through the submerged dueling arena! Respiratus might come in handy this time!

• Our mid-July patch notes were released. This update introduced:
  • Focused Quests: Display quests on your scoreboard.
    • This will allow us to display the location on the map later in the hopefully near future.
  • Quest Item Bag: Receive quest items in a bag like menu, instead of in your real inventory. This will help prevent issues of players not receiving items, and will also help players manage their inventories more easily.

As we start August, we are excited to announce the winner of last month's giveaway, as well as announce this month's new prompt!

In July, we had many fantastic pieces of art submitted that fit the zodiac sign prompt! From beautifully constructed pieces to artwork out of this world, those in our art community showed their talent once again! And so, without further ado, the July winner is… Silquer! They will receive the prize of 150 Potter Points and 100 House Points today.

Now onto the August giveaway & theme!

To reiterate, the Monthly Art Giveaway is a way for players to create any art form (MC build, render, drawing, writing, craft, etc.) while fitting a specific theme. One winner will be randomly picked at the end of the month, and will receive 150 Potter Points and 100 House Points!

This month's prompt is to create a piece involving your favorite Potterworld class subject!

Greetings everyone!

After much deliberation and consideration, we have come to the decision to discontinue the Housemaster role. We’d like to thank all current, and previous, housemasters and heads of houses for their work and contributions to their role. It has not gone unnoticed!

What about house cups?
Don’t worry! We’ll still be doing the house cups, and there’ll still be a celebration for the winning house. We even have plans to expand on this, so e.g. the Great Hall becomes decorated with the winning house’s color for a while.

We’ll also be looking at trying to balance House Points a bit more so it’s fairer for every house. Right now, with the current system, certain houses have a clear advantage over other houses, and we want to help even the playground a bit.

The future for house cups is exciting!

Why this change?
After reviewing the 6 months the Housemaster role has existed, and the HoHs, the value it has provided to the server hasn’t really been anything big and worth the effort it takes for the teams to be active and complete their responsibilities. With the discontinuation of Roleplay and the Inquisitorial Squad, we feel this is another step in entering a new state where Potterworld is more focused on making new game-play for the server, without requiring staff members to become ‘actors’ and manage aspects of the community.

At the end of the day, we believe that a strong community is self-run. This is something that has been clear for many years, as the involvement from HoHs and Housemasters hasn’t been that much, and the community has still flourished and remained strong, if not stronger.

We are excited to announce that the Poltergeist subdepartment will be moving from Community Management to join Technology & Development!

These changes will establish closer communication between the playerbase and our Developers, and it will increase transparency with players regarding valuable core aspects of the server. We will be making some large backend changes over the next months to adjust how we handle suggestions. This will increase the efficiency and communication in the team. As a result, this new system will also decrease the wait times for suggestions to receive an official decision. Effective immediately, we will no longer be sending out initial responses to suggestions to accommodate and match these changes, as well as creating a smoother and simpler system for us to work with.

We will also be making some changes to how we gather feedback and suggestions, such as slightly raising the amount of AC received from filling forms out, working on shortening forms, sending out broadcasts in-game when forms are released, and using new methods to gather statistical data. We can't wait to see the effect these changes have and how the Poltergeist team grows with them!
