Welcome to the Academics weekly assignment for the week of December 12th, 2021! These weekly assignments will give our Professors the ability to showcase some of their lesson ideas here on the website. Each assignment will be posted for a week, in which everyone will be able to read about the topic and respond to the assignment prompt. The annual Winter Waltz is upon us, and this year we will be meeting some new friends! Headmistress Sampaio has invited Hogsworth students to celebrate the holiday festivities at Castelomagia, Brazil’s School of Magic! Speak to Kevin just outside of the Great Hall to begin your magical journey into the rainforest. Meet the school’s professors and students as you explore the stunning Brazilian castle.

Uniforms
If you would fit in amongst the other students at Castelomagia, you can get your own uniform for yourself with one of our downloadable bases! Figure out which of the Castelomagia houses you would belong in via the Tropical Winter Waltz Quest and coordinate with the Castelomagia students at this year's Winter Waltz!

The Academics team is proud to announce a 24 Hours of Classes event scheduled for this upcoming Saturday, December 4th (in PST). We'd like to invite you all to join us as we have 24 classes back-to-back at the start of each hour all day long! Make sure to check out the schedule below for each class, and we hope to see you there!

With the Winter season approaching, we're excited to announce our Winter 2021 art competition and writing competition! You can enter both competitions for the chance to win the Holiday Reindeer Antlers, North Pole Staff, or Snowflake Staff! There will be 3 winners for each competition, for a total of 6 winners.

Competition Prizes
1st Place Winners: 200 HP, 600 PP, and their choice of ONE of the above prizes
2nd Place Winners: 150 HP, 450 PP
3rd Place Winners: 100 HP, 300 PP

Competition Timeline
December 1st - Submission period is opened
December 15th - Submission period is closed and judging begins
December 22nd - Latest date for winners to be announced
